Synopsis

With his wife and children on holiday, the conventional Mr Roberts goes to Parker Pyne seeking excitement to inject into his drab life. Pyne decides Mr Roberts is just the man to travel to Geneva with secret plans and Roberts finds more romance and intrigue than he’d bargained for!

In this story Parker Pyne once again makes use of his beautiful assistant, Madeleine de Sara. However, this creature, whom Pyne has referred to as the “Queen of the Vamps”, is not everything she seems; better known to her family as Maggie Sayers, she is the fourth daughter of an honest hard-working family living in Streatham, South London.
