Synopsis

Alicia Coombe manages her very smart dressmaking business with the help of her young assistant, Sybil. One day, a doll appears in the shop, a floppy, long-legged doll who sits itself on the best sofa. But where did it come from and why does it appear to watch them?

One of Christie’s more ‘creepy’ tales, this was first published in Woman’s Journal in 1958. Although it appeared in Miss Marple’s Final Cases in the UK it is not a Marple story. It can also be found in Double Sin and Other Stories in the US.
