A honeymoon cruise on the Nile is paradise, until Simon Mostyn's wife Kay is found murdered in her cabin. Simon’s jilted ex, Jacqueline, is on board and has openly declared her revenge but she has a cast iron alibi.  So who did kill Kay?

Based on one of her best known books has Christie managed to combine the characters from the novel to good effect in the play?  Does the play stand up without Poirot in the central role?  Would it have been better to keep Colonel Race as the sleuth?

Trying to find out if Christie really wrote Death on the Nile while staying at the Old Cataract Hotel in Assuan. That's something I read somewhere years ago, but can't remember where. It wasn't in her autobiography as far as I can see. I've checked.
