Inspector Japp makes a bet with Poirot that he can't solve the disappearance of Mr Davenheim without moving from his chair.  The man went to his local village but never returned home and the clothes he was wearing have been discovered. It's a complicated case but is this a bet that Poirot could possibly lose?

This was a very enjoyable story, one which I feel is an excellent example of Poirot's intelligence and enigma. The strange task he requests, the mysterious comments he makes, it was all very authentic. I also found the solution very neat- it was a great read.
