I like it! Mythology (or Classical Studies) is in!

Yes, there should be literary symposiums, etc.
For anyone interested, University of Vermont is offering an online course this summer, entitled "Crime Story: Agatha Christie". Here is the description of the course:
Known world-wide as the "Queen of Crime," Agatha Christie is the best-selling author of all time. Her name, as well as that of Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple, has become a part of our cultural imagination through the novels as well as numerous film and television adaptations. This course examines the form of the classic detective novel, Christie's life, the breadth of themes within her work, and her creation of a female detective.

Sound good! Maybe we can submit then to the site for people to read?
If someone gave a lecture of any of these subjects this in my area, I would attend it.
Ten people, each with something to hide and something to fear, are invited to a lonely mansion on Soldier Island by a host who, surprisingly, fails to appear.
When the wealthy patriarch, Aristide, is murdered, suspicion falls on the whole household. ...
Travelling on the Orient Express, Poirot is approached by a desperate American. Afraid that someone plans to kill him, Ratchett asks Poirot for help ...

Another idea for the 120th anniversary could be "Christie University," a collection of essays or lectures compiled in order to give people an introduction to aspects of Christie's world, each in a different subject. For example:
HISTORY: This could consist of overviews of interwar, postwar, and sixties/seventies Britain, the three main eras of British history covered in Christie's work.
ENGLISH: A guide to the literary references in Christie's work, such as the sources behind many of her titles, like Taken at the Flood, By the Pricking of My Thumbs, The Mousetrap, The Rose and the Yew Tree, Sad Cypress, and many others.
PSYCHOLOGY: A guide to "the little grey cells": criminal psychology and how it's used to catch killers.
ANTHROPOLOGY: Studies of ancient culture, such as Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia.
CHEMISTRY: An introduction to toxicology– a guide to the many poisons in Christie's work.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE: Anecdotes about translating Christie for non-English audiences.
THEATRE ARTS: Studies of Christie's stage adaptations and films.
ECONOMICS: A look at the daily operations of Chorion and Agatha Christie, Ltd.
PHILOSOPHY: Thoughts on crime, punishment, and the morality of the Christieverse.
What do you think of this?
