After reading the press release, it looks like a lot of fun events are being planned. Perhaps the site could start promoting the book, Agatha Christie's Devon in a lead up to the festival. Those attending the festivities could get the book beforehand, and read up on the area before going.
I was thinking what fun it would be to attend a murder mystery/treasure hunt at Greenway House similar to the one in the novel, Dead Man's Folly. I've spent a better part of the past few months working out the details for such a murder mystery event....and the more I think it about it the more I am convinced it would be a roaring success. A corporate sponsor could donate the prizes and part of the entry fee to the event could go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the property.
It's a shame ITV decided not to make Dead Man's Folly instead of one of the other new Poirots. The timing - 120 anniversary of Agatha Christie's birth and the restoration of Greenway House - would have been perfect. The premier screening could've been held on the property with the river Dart in the background. Oh well - a missed opportunity. Still, I hope before they wrap up the series with David Suchet, they adapt Dead Man's Folly bringing back Zoe Wanamker as Mrs. O. I am really looking forward to seeing it filmed at Greenway House. Talking about bringing a novel to life.......
Thanks S Sigerson, we'll have that up on the site soon.
Moderator2, why not just post the information on the website for everyone to see? The English Riviera Tourist Board has put out a press release regarding the events that will take place to celebrate the 120th Anniversary of Agatha Christie's birth.

So, no-one is able to help on likely running order of festival for 2010. Perhaps a member might be kind enough to point me to the programme for 2009 which might give a clue! In anticipation.
Ten people, each with something to hide and something to fear, are invited to a lonely mansion on Soldier Island by a host who, surprisingly, fails to appear.

As someone trying to co-ordinate a hotel, theatre tickets and not wanting to miss out on a key event for the family, can anyone help me with the running order of the week in September? If I can't afford to spend all week in Torquay it would be nice to plan ahead for (say) a thre day trip. Can you say when the events will be revealed? Is this an AC tradition of building up the suspense or just that it's too early to say?![]()
