LIFE REPEATS ITSELF Agatha Christie's books are a great favourite of mine. The sweet old lady, Miss Marple , has always fascinated me, specially her views about life. She always maintained--   Life is very much the same everywhere, getting born , growing up, coming into contact with people and so on.  (Recently, in a talk a clinical psychologist said the same thing, there are 53 events which are the same in the lives of all people.)Her hobby was studying human nature, varied and fascinating.   She classed people into different types  and found that  there were very few distinct types. Each type acted in a similiar way in different circumstances. She lived in a small village called St Mary Mead.  Her nephew used to call it a stagnant pool.  She used to say, 'under  the micriscope, even a drop of water from a stagnant pool is full of life.'    It is interesting and when we study people we find that so many people behave in a same way. Recently,  I found that even  incidents repeat themselves, and the circumstances are also the same in two completely unrelated families and in different parts of the world. Quite some time ago,  in a large family, one of the brothers  and his wife were  looking after his grandmother. She had lived with them for many, many years. The others were not very interested in sharing the responsibilty. The old lady had always been a very active person, but with advancing age and limitations, she had become frustrated and had taken out her anger on her grandson's wife. For obvious reasons her diet had to be restricted.  She was always complaining that she was not being looked after properly.Enter,  the granddaughter, in righteous indignation and hurling accusations at her sister in law.She took the grandmother to her house.  The grandmother was very happy for two months, then it was back to square for one.  The granddaughter got fed up and put the old lady in an old age home.  I am sure the same drama is happening in so many families all over the world.I was witness to all these events and I was so surprised when I was a spectator to the same events taking place in another family,  the same sequence of events. It was like rewinding a tape and watching everything happening again. It is just like what Miss Marple says -' life is very much the same everywhere.'Really,  Life is very interesting. There is so much of drama happening all the time.  But, it is not  all nice if we are involved in something unpleasant. Unfortunately, sometimes it is not in our hands , things just happen.
