Post title: The Mirror Crack'd

I thoroughly enjoyed this book when i read it at my library a while back and after I couldn't find it in a charity shop, I decided to buy it at full price. This is quite a show of appreciation for me, I don't have much money, still being at school! Anyway, I found the characters engaging and AC's subtle wit at growing old was charming, as always. In my opinion it was a relatively simple plot, which I am not going to give away.

I don't think that this is a first time Marple, there are better Miss Marple books but it fits in with the rest of the series very well.

Yes - I liked Miss Knight and its a shame that they packed her off as it would have been good to see her reappear in later Marples.

I liked the book. I found Miss Knight really hilarious, in the way she treated Miss Marple.

In addition, I found the ending brilliant (I DID spot the motive, and thus, the killer, but I only tumbled to it a few paragraphs near the solution). Definately not a masterpiece like, say, "A Murder is Announced", but a very nice book in its own respect. It's not flawless (far from it), but it's still a great read.

I think Mirror Cracked is one of the better of the later Chrsties. At least you can follow Miss Marple's line of detection. I was able to work out the murderer quite early on because this is one of those novels where AC seems so interested in the murderer, that she neglects to flesh out most of the other suspects. I also found the marriage between Marina Gregg and Arthur Babc**K totally unconvincing.

I like the fact that Mrs. Bantry also plays a role again in this one and Inspector Craddock as he is one of my favourite policemen in the Marples.

Great book, I love Miss Marple's companion, the way she annoyed Miss Marple so much

Nice book. Finding out who the murderer is is very easy, but i have to say, that I haven't discovered the motive.
