Where is Joan Hickson

Your home page notes the presence of Miss Marple. But no photograph of the best interpretation of Joan Hickson. The current style of Mis Marple reduces the character to the flimsiness of irrelevance. Joan Hickson had the annoying 'school-maam' righeousness of presence and declamation. It was a joy to witness strictness of acting style and intense dedication to the character.

I couldn't answer the question on the main page, "Which character do I prefer, Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple?"  I definitely prefer Miss Marple, but I only picture Joan Hickson in that role.  She portrayed Miss Marple exactly as I pictured her when reading the books.  Geraldine McEwen is more like Clara Bow, when talkies first came out - totally un-Miss Marple.  I bought the series of DVD's with Joan Hickson - I just wish there were more.  Of course, I can always read the books again. :)

I think the heading was created when Geraldine McEwan was the current Miss Marple. It really should be Julia McKenzie, as the current Miss Marple.

I was on the forum, thinking of a reply once, I was looking at the top of the page, where the words flash across next to the photo of Geraldine McEwan. Then I saw the words "bags" flash across next to her photo! I thought "thats not very nice!" I then realised it was just objects involved in plots. I have these moments where my brain doesnt work..
