Hey 3rd Girl. What if I start a topic for The Secret of Chimneys? Then we wouldn't be off topic :)

Let's do that...so we can discuss the Chimneys books and be casting agents for the tv series. ;-) I am loving them!

Afew weeks ago I saw an Actor on Midsomer Murders called Jamie Belman, he would be good as Anthony Cade or as I said on another Topic it would be good if James Warwick hads a son who was an Actor, I can think of someone else but have to find out his name.

You'll enjoy The Seven Dials too, 3rd Girl. I love Chimneys but I like Seven Dials better. And if you love Anthony Cade,  you'll love Jimmy Theiser too!I wonder if they ever make an adaptation of it who would they get to play Anthony Cade? It would have to be someone extremely good looking.

Hmmm, let me get my casting agents hat on...they would have to be British actors...Johnny Lee Miller and Jonathon Rhys Meyers fit the good looking and correct age bracket and they have a rogueish charm that is needed as well.

The only US actor I can think of is Matt Damon. I've not seen much of his work but I did see him interviewed on Tv and he is very cheeky and charming. It would just depend on his ability to be British.

Since you'd be playing the role of Bundle, Bundle, what do you think??

And just so we don't get off topic, I'm reading the Poirot short story 'The Yellow Iris' this morning as it was just re-run on TV last night and I wanted to see bow faithful the adaptaion was.

Hi Bundle, I Just finished it. The girls are super-cute. I do love how all upper-crust English girls seem to have have hilarious nicknames. Bundle is great.

I'm afraid my crush on Mr Cade only intensified through the book.

I really didn't pick the murderer at all, I think AC did a good job of smoke-screening that one. Mind you, I was a bit in a tizz with all of the people pretending to be other people and who was whom by the end of it!

Now, onto Seven Dials...I'll been interested to see what I think if Tommy-A doesn't hink it's as good. I do like to read them all in order.

You will love The Secret of Chimneys, I preferred it to 7 Dials but that might be bnecause I have seen the Video of 7 Dials but maybe not, I preferred the result of Chimneys, I agree about The Labour of Hercules, some stories were Great and some went on a bit, I preferred tyhe ones with Japp, George and Miss Lemon and I also liked Mrs Carnody, she made my mind think of somethingf else AC should have got Poirot to do, You didn't sound cross just rightly miffed.

The posts are always mixed up Tommy_A_Jones at the moment. I'm not too sure what the moderators are doing but we seem to have missed August Book Club as well, and it's nearly September! ;-)That sounded a bit cross didn't it? I'm not cross about it, just a keen bean.

Just finished The Labours of Hecules and some of the short stories were great and some were so-so.

I have just started 'The Mirror Crack'd From Side To Side', Agatha Christie Dedicated it to Margaret Rutherford, I was going to read Three-Act Tragedy but thought I would read this instead as it is apart of the 'Marple' series which Britain sees next month and I think I read that a Character in the book who hasn't up to now been portrayed appears so I thought I would read it so I can compere the Book and the Adaptation.

I finished A Caribbean Murder today. I thought it was great - I especially liked the interaction between Miss Marple and Mr. Rafiel. Besides, the caribbean setting made it even more enjoyable to read it in torrid summer time - I could almost imagine to be in St. Honoré myself. And typically I made a very wrong guess as to who the murderer was, but that's part of the fun! ;)

I am currently reading - er - devouring Murder on the Orient Express. Well, to be precise, I just finished it. Ingenious solution, that one. If any one manages to outsmart Poirot and beat him to the solution first, hats off to them. I personally find the crime to be of a most fantastic nature, yet truly believable. A masterpiece of a Christie.

I've just begun reading A Murder Is Announced because I just watched the movie (three part Hickson version) and wanted to clarify something.  Of course, this isn't my first read.

I pulled out all my Tommy & Tuppence books (5), so they'll be next.  I also just watched their entire series, so I was in the mood to read some mysteries.  Many years ago, I belonged to a book club and received By the Pricking of My Thumbs when it was first released, and that was my introduction to T&T, not Poirot, Marple, Oliver, etc., as I'd already spent many hours with them.

I really love reading short stories and I love Miss Marple short stories more than anything else. My favorite stories from The Thirteen Problems are The Tuesday Night Club, The Idol House of Astarte, The Bloodstained Pavement, The Blue Geranium, The Companion, The Four Suspects, A Christmas Tragedy and The Herb of Death. Even after reading this book so many times I still love it.

I have just finished 'The Thirteen Problems' I loved it although the Actress Iritated me and I got a bit lost with the last story Miss Marple told in the Group and 'Death by Drowning' but that was just me I think, I agree perhaps Agatha Christie should have written more books with Miss Marple but I think there are too many books with Poirot but again that is just my opinion.

I don't really care for short stories, however, I have always enjoyed the Miss Marple ones. I think my favorite three stories in this one were "The Blood Stained-Pavement' 'The Herb of Death' & 'Death by Drowning' however, like you, I did get a little confused w/ it. I had to go back back & re-read some parts to fully get it.

BTW the reason why there are so many Poirot books is b/c the publishers kept asking Christie for more Poirot books b/c he was so popular. I wish that there had been more non-series books, though. And I wish that Bundle & the other bright young things had had their own series!
