In alot of ways I agree with you Nigel_jon, although I do think every Generation should have a Miss Marple, Poirot and Tommy and Tuppence why as you say try improve on perfection although it would be nice to see the Miss Marple short stories Dramatised and the Tommy and Tuppence books not Dramatised yet I think it would be great if some of the books so far not tackled were done and done PROPERLY like Passenger to Frankfurt, Destination Unknown, The Man In The Brown Suit, They Came from Baghdad and The Secret of Chimneys and perhaps repeats of The Pale Horse, The Seven Dials Mystery, and 'Why Didn't They Ask Evans (A Proper one) would be nice.

Remember Agatha Christies prophetic words to Joan Hickson, about wanting her to play her Miss Marple.
Well, the BBC Series of the 1980s, was, by far, the best, in fact,I would go so far as to say, although Christie fans yearn for new material, whatever the genre, my question is, when you have achieved the definitive productions of her stories for television, and of course the definitive Miss Marple, in the shape of Joan Hickson, why try to retell the stories, often altering them, to their detriment, filling them with top flight stars, when the supporting cast in the BBC series were not always star names but excellent supporting actors, i name a few, Gwen Watford, Ursula Howells, Annette Badland, RalphMichael and the oh so perfect paola Dionisetti,I may be a stick in the mud but as I say, when we have had the best, why continue.I would welcome your responses
