What are some really good Poriot books that you suggest I have read half of them and I want to know some really good ones so I can look out for them. I like books that have a good middle part not just a good start and finnish. I like books with quirky families or interesting love affairs like 'The Hollow', 'Hercule Poriot's Christmas' and Appiontment with death'.

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Black Coffee, Lord Edgeware Dies, Murder in Mesopotamia, Mrs. McGinty's Dead. I've read all but the last three and Hickory Dickory Dock.....for some reason I cannot find Hickory Dickory Dock in Ibooks, but anyway, these are my favs. I love Poirot!

It is up to the individual what is "Good" but my Favourites are

ABC Murders

Cards On The Table

Evil Under The Sun

The Clocks

After The Funeral

The Hollow

Taken At The Flood

Death On The Nile

Mrs McGinty's Dead

Basically I like most of them, not too keen on Three-Act Tragedy but prefer it to Lord Edgware Dies, Murder On The Links and The Big Four, Third Girl and Halloween Party asre books I didn't enjoy as much as other books with Ariadne Oliver. I probably haven't been much help but the first lot are ones I would reach for first unless I was wanting to re-read them in order and in their entirety, I would also say you must read The Mysterious Affair At Styles as it introduces Poirot, Hastings and Japp but when I re-read it I realised there was nothing to indicate Japp would be a recurring Character,  Correct me if I am wrong by all means.

I've read all Poirot Novels (except Curtain...) and I made a list just for fun. I'm just looking at it and search some stories you could like...

so here we go:

- Murder on the Links it's very funny, interesting with a good plot and great characters. About two families in France and a dead husband =) Poirots second case

- The Murder of Roger Ackroyd already named by ErkutSoyer I can't get enough of it, that's why I bought the audio book. It's of course about the murder of Roger Ackroyed, a rich man who was found in his workroom stabbed... There are many mysterios affairs of all inhabitants of the little village Kings Abbot. You can't guess who the murderer is!

- Taken at the Flood 'One of the best! her gift for blending the cosy with the macabre has seldom been more in evidence than it is here.' Elizabeth Bowen, Tatler 'Told briskly, vivaciously, and with ever-fertile imagination.' Manchester Evening News 'One of the better Christies! Don't miss.' New York Herald Tribune  this I found in a review of amazon and I can't add anything else except: In this book you will find a big family drama with addictions, faked identeties, blackmail and of course murder!

- After the Funeral Maybe you know the adaption with Margeret Rutherford as Miss Marple but actually it's a Poirot novel. At the Funeral of Mr Abernethie said Cora, his daughter that it might be murder. Some days later she was found dead.... It's about the Abernethies and all their little secrets... it's only a pity that Poirot himself appears lately in the novel

Hope I could help You And I would feel honoured if you'd read one of those!

You shall read Evil Under the Sun because the ending is very surprising and I just can't imagine the ending. The plot, twists, characters are really good. I also recommend Cards On the Table, Hallowe'en Party and Death On the Nile

Humm... good Poirot books! I'd suggest 'Death on The Nile', simply perfect, there aren't any boring parts in the middle and it's absolutely magical, oh and there is a very, very instersting love affair! 'Lord Edgware Dies', really funny and exciting, witty and clever novel with eccentric characters. 'Dumb Witness', very witty, funny, mysterious and with one of the nicest characters ever - Bob! 'Cards on the table', dark, obscure, mysterious, beautifully well written. Others that I have read: Dead Man's Folly, Three Act Tragedy (also a very good one), Hickory Dickory Dock, Murder in the mews (a story collection with wonderful stories), The Hollow (so melancholic but beautiful), Hallowe'en Party (Actually, I think it's the worst AC I have ever read but it's intersting).
