Halloween Party

I will be reading Halloween party this week , Thought it would be a good one to read this time of year , now that the leaves are falling and the Pumpkins are being picked.

No doubt this is the right time to read this book. I read it a year ago, for Christmas. A good one! It makes you really wonder who the murderer is..

If my memory serves me right, there isnt an awful lot of Haloween in this book, apart from the fateful party early on.

I'm 3/4 into the book now and it does have a lot of references to this time of year, Its a good read.

This is one of my particular favourites as it deals with children and Agatha has a wonderfully wicked attitude to supposed childhood innocence, it also deals with one of Agatha's other favourite preoccupations ~ the supernatural, real or bogus

There are some terrific characters in 'Halloween Party' and it has one of the weirdest endings ever! I really enjoyed this book.

Really enjoyed the book , and the ending was a total surprise. I had read it in the past a long long time ago , and had forgotten much of it.

"Hallowe'en Party" is a book that, I find, is largely underappreciated. I loved Mrs. Oliver in this one, and the plot certainly had a Hallowe'en-ish feel to it. The ending genuinely shocked me, and the book certainly kept my interest very easily. Sure, it isn't the BEST Christie around, but it is great.

In my mind, I have seperated the AC novels between pre and post 1960. I dont think any of the novels she wrote in her latter career compare with the ones she wrote in her peak. Both plots and characterisation became very creaky the older she got. Having said that, I believe that Halloween Party is one of the better of the later novels. I agree with Go Leafs that the ending is one of her most shocking ones

Not just the identity of the killer was shocking, but what he or she was doing at the end of the book was shocking as well! (It was a very suspenseful scene.)

I bought this book yesterday and I am still on page something. I will tell you later what I think about this book when I will finish reading it but I think this book is very very good. I believe I will be surprised later because I will now know the ending. I'm getting excited!

I already finished reading the book last night. I love the ending and the murderer, when they revealed, was surprising! My favorite character are Miranda and Judith Butler. I dislike Joyce and his little greedy brother. I really like this book. You can't really guess easily who the murderer is. Some of the scenes in the middle pages are boring. The settings are good. In the last pages, it was thrilling(like in And Then There Were None). The solution is also good and I rate this book 7.5/10.

I loved this book.. The ending is a bit sad but I was left guessing as to the motive to the end. I Loved the setting.. A small mysterious town.

I don't like so much Hallowe'en Party. There're better books. Miss Oliver is a bonus, and makes the story really fun. Note: 6/10

I'm going to rate this as a 9/10. It was really good. The only Christie book that I like more is "Toward Zero", which is my favorite. The thing at the end, with the goblet, is really cool.

It was a bit disappointing, but still fun. Now that I've read previous comments I'm reminded of some good and creepy moments in the book, particularly that scene in the end, when that little girl runs away to meet the murderer, whom she turns out to be in love with... :o
