I'm turning 14 in about 2 weeks :) I've been obsessing over A.C for about a year, on my birthday it all started when I had a murder party, and I watched Death on the Nile to get character ideas! I want to collect as many books as possible!

I'm 14! And A.C. is my favourite since... well... a couple of years

but I started with the film murder in the orient express. half a year later I was also obsessed with the books. My best friend, too. I could infect her with reading them but my second friend doesn't understand why we love reading classics.

@ ArlenaSMarshall: I'm just preparing a book presentation for school 'bout five little pigs!

Dindda-

You're not boring me. I thought I was boring you!!! Have you read 5 little pigs? I just watched the movie and I thought it was good. I'll probably read next once I finish The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.

Sorry for not replying earlier, but thanks for the suggestions.

ArlenaSMarshall-

Thanks. I went to a bookstore and bought ( well, to be fair, my dad actually did the the buying ) And Then There Were None and Murder On The Orient Express. I read Murder On The Orient Express first and I have re-read it at least ten times. ( I knew the ending, as I have already watched the film adaptation with Albert Finney ) When I read And Then There Were None, I was desperate to find out the identity of the murderer.

I guess I am boring you all to tears. I'll stop... NOW.

Dindda-

I strongly reccomend you read And Then There Were None. It's her absolute best novel hands down.

My first book was "And then there was None." I read it in high school, but here in New York channel 11 would always show the original movie, so I could compare the ending with the book. I am now 41 and have most of her books and movies, nothing is better on a rainy day than a visit with Miss Marple Or Poirot!

I'm 14 and I started reading Agatha Christie when I was 12. The book was in my school library. It was "The ABC Murders".

I started reading AC when I felt I had outgrown 'The Famous Five'. I'm not sure how old I was then, but I'm 28 (nearly 29) now and still love rereading the books over and over again, especially the Poirot books. I also like to listen to the audio books.

I think 'The Mysterious Affair at Styles' is a good book to start with, being the first Poirot.

Oh well sorry dindda, but I'm certain that in the UK you would still have an easy time finding Christie novels at the library, even if the system works differently.

...hey to dinddapoirotlover...check the library. You can even check the library search engine and find all the Christie mysteries that are in the entire county -not just your local branch where you live- if you are in the United States.

I am 31 and my earliest memories of Agatha Christie mysteries were actually seeing television versions when I was three or four years old. Believe it or not, that initial impression of the "atmosphere" of Christie's work lodged itself in my mind and formed a life-long love of mysteries. For the past few years I've really been reading a lot of her novels, and I'm particularly focused on the Poirot mysteries, though I do love Murder at the Vicarage which is a Miss Marple. Hercule Poirot is my favorite of her detectives, and Ariadne Oliver is the second fave. I listen to the audio books, and I'm currently watching some of the DVDs with David Suchet as Poirot.

Well, I`m 11 but I haven`t read any Agatha Christie books... yet. Haven`t found her books, but I haven`t searched in big book stores. The thing which I think all us people here is reading. I love reading - and drawing. Back to my point - what Agatha Christie Poirot [ACP] book is the best to start with? Or what was your favourite book/s?

Seems most people start their AC addiction when they're around 12. I also started at 12. Now I'm 30 and still a fan! I remember one particular experience when I was 12, my first AC. It was the Mysterious Affair at Styles, and I couldn't guess the murderer, and when Poirot finally revealed the culprit it was almost like an ecstatic experience for me (I remember the feeling), and from then on I was hooked.

But I remember when I was 12 none of my friends could understand why I would be reading those books. That was back in 1990. Even those that liked books weren't into AC. So I had nobody to share the pleasure with. Luckily later in my life I met a woman who was also a AC fan, and we're married since last year.

Hello. I am 19 and have been reading AC since I was...I don't know but at least by middle school. I actually got hooked on her stories by watching Poirot on PBS when I was really little. It was my favorite thing on tv. Somewhere in the 4th or 5th grade my parents bought a couple of her books to see if I would like those too and I have been reading and rereading them ever since.

I start reading AC books when I was 12, the first one I read was Sparkling Cyanide (I think its called this way in english, in spanish is Cianuro Espumoso). I live in Mexico, and I can't make friends because I like to read.

So I must select between friends and AC books, and I proudly selected Dame Agatha Christie books.

I read my first AC book two years ago when I was 13. It took me a little over a year to read them all.

As for whether my friends love or hate reading, they will do it for English class, but rarely will you see them pick up an actuall novel of their own accord.

I'm seventeen have read Christie for almost two years, my first was Murder on the Orient Express. I recognize what you are saying aripoimar and detpj, most of my friends neither love nor hate reading, they read when the teacher tells them to. It's mostly TV or the computer that amazes young people these days, but I have also noticed old people falling for all technology and forget the book treasure we've got. Sad indeed!

I really love reading books and using technology like my Ipod, computers, watching television and more and when I played a game called Death On the Nile, I heard that it was a book so I bought the books until I began liking her works and pc games. Agatha Christie books are really NOT for adults only but also for teens and some kids. My uncle loves reading books by Agatha Christie when he was a teen. Anyway I also love reading Harry Potter and Narnia books and some comedies. My fave AC book is Death On the Nile.

I am 49 and read my first AC novel in 1984. I was on Paddington station waiting for a train to take us on holiday to Devon. I popped into the bookshop on the platform and picked up "Evil Under The Sun". By the end of the week's holiday I had brought a further five novels and by the end of that year and read most of her books. I re-read them approximately every three years.

I was just a bit younger than the two of you when my love for Dame Agatha Christie started. I already was a hugh fan of trains, then my mother told me about this book she had read a few years before titled Murder on the Orient Express. I was hooked even though it was a bit complicated for me at the time I knew the rest of life I would be infatuated with her. None of my friends could understand what it was that I liked about her, they were still playing with dress up and dolls. You two are very lucky that you are beginning your enjoyment of her works in this age of technogoly. You have so much more access to information than I did. Good luck to the two of you with your AC books.
