Cutscene problems

Okay, so I bought the Agatha Christie Triple Murder Pack for the PC recently, played the first two and am currently playing Evil Under the Sun. The game plays fine, with one exception: the cutscenes (i.e. the opening intro as in Murder on the Orient Express where it shows the train) do not work. It is as though it skips right past them, and I can't think of a way to fix this problem. I've tried uninstalling then installing again, and even installed it on a different laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really like this game and want to finish it, but can't because I don't know what happens in those cutscenes. Thanks!

Unfortunately, The Adventure Company, which produces the games, has been sold.  I don't know how that will affect your customer service.  Since the games are several years old, they may be clashing with some of the newer software you have on your computer.  There should be some customer service contact information there– hopefully someone there can still help you.

I bought "Evil Under The Sun" on its own (due to a lack of response from the support team) and our versions are clearly missing the cut-scenes (well over 500MB worths!).

Solution: Buy the game (again) by itself... :(

I'm guess we're not the only ones. Someone posted this on Amazon.com;

"The cut scenes (the video sequences) for Evil Under The Sun are missing (from the compilation edition)".

I bought the triple pack too and also cannot get the cut-scenes (cutscene, cut scene, depending on your spelling!) to work. I found an obscure web page that advised we may be missing the cut-scene files!

I compared the *.bik files from "Evil Under the Sun" to the other 2 games on the compilation ("Then There Were None" and "Murder On The Orient Express") and found this:

TTWN:  74 items

MOtOE: 86 items

EUtS:    31 items (seems substantially less).

I patched the game to no avail (admittedly the patch file was only 9MB so this could hardly contain all the missing files (if this is indeed the problem).

Have submitted a question to them... hoping they can let me know!

I tried emailing them, but got no response back. =/ I haven't had the problem with the white screen...fortunately. I might try downloading the patch to see if that works.

I don't know.  I'd contact the makers of the game.  They might know about the problem, and have provided a patch for the game on their website.  My copy of the game had a similar flaw- the screen turned white once Poirot reached a certain point in the island and wouldn't change back, but a free downloadable patch fixed it.
