My Mum has jusat been reading an Autobiography A Feather On The Tide by Alison Wolff-Wilson and she tells of when Agatha and Sir Max were to stay for 2 Nights at the Embassy at Ankara, Unfortunately Alison Wolff-Wilson could not be there but Agatha was informed that an avid reader would love to meet her, the lady who told Agatha sent Alison a note telling her of a reception sadly due to illness she couldn't attend so Agatha suggested visiting Alison Wolf-Wilson she asked Alison which she prewferrewd HP or MM, Alison said she liked both, Agatha assured her she needn't be polite and Alison said that she preferred Miss Marple, Agatha said she did also and had written a book where Poirot was killed of but that the Publishers wouldn't let it be published, she also asked which was Alison's favourite and she said the one she was reading at the time The Hollow Agatha Signed it and wrote down the titles of the 4 books she had written since.
Agatha Christie went on to explain how Poirot was created and about Belgiun Refugees and she mentioned that the books were serialised in America, and after seweking advice found that the serialisations couldn't be stopped, The Americans had not done a good job.
Alison asked if she invented plots and people she met travelling, she admitted she used places she visited but Neber anyone she then told of when she went down the Nile and saw a lady who she thought would be great to put in a future book but sadluy the woman started to speak which meant that Agatha couldn't use her, Alison correctly guessed the real views and spoken words would ruin the imagery of her Invention.
I just thought people might be interested to read this.
