Who were some of Agatha Christie's idols in the literary field?

The Yellow Room by Gaston Leroux was a huge influence on AC when she originally started writing. Maybe all the other detectives and their authors featured in Partners in Crime were big influences too.

Thankyou for the answer. According to the internet, she grew up with neighbours such as Henry James and Rudyard Kipling, so i think she'd certainly have had quite a few people to look up to and be influenced by.

I'll have a look at that book
