Fontana editions

I am currently collecting the Fontana editions of Agatha Christie paperbacks, specifically the ones with the white border top and bottom of the cover. Does anyone else collect these? Does anyone know how many there are in total of this specific kind? Does anyone know the best places to look for them (I use EBay and Amazon)?

Just checked your profile and realised you are in Oz, so eBay still your best bet to buy them from, I have bought many from Australia via eBay over the years. Good luck !

There is a Yahoo group "Tom Adams and Agatha Christie" you can join, that deals specifically with the editions you are collecting. There are pictures of every single one, plus the U.S. Pocket books editions. The Fontana books in question were published from the early 1960s until "Miss Marple's Final Cases" in 1979. I don't want to put you off but I have 129 different  Fontana covers from this period, quite a number of the books were published with different covers over the years, but they are worth collecting as, in my opinion, the cover art is every bit as good as the stories themselves. Not sure which country you are from but eBay is probably your best option if you are in the UK. Usually best to type into the search the name of the book you are looking for rather than a general 'Agatha Christie' search. Dont expect to find her first six novels as Fontana editions, they were never published. Fontana was the paperback division of Collins, and Collins never owned the rights to the first six books. Good luck, and happy hunting !
