hi, I know that the "poison help" request is for an activity being planned for last year, and I haven't read through all of the previous posts yet, but the "psychidelic" drugs are, pharmacologically and psychologically, far more probable in making someone "go mad" and "kill" than opium or other hypnotic / sedative drugs are. it depends on the person being drugged, of course, but opium and heroin users are often so sleepy that they neither listen to someone telling them to kill people, nor do they get up to eat, drink, use the washroom, try to make money for purchasing more drugs, etc... they would be rather half-dead by the time anyone had got a "go and kill" idea into their head. ~FYI for your future stories and murder hunts.
Are you still writing stories? They sound interesting.Really interesting.
Yes I do.
MissQuinIf you were killed off it wouldn't be fair, so I'm sure it would be done in a way so that anyone who wants to can solve it. But If you are killed Conan, I'll do my best to avenge your death and bring the murderer to justice!!
Detective_ConanYay! It's nice to see some avenging these days! If you are killed, it goes without saying that I'll do the same.
MissQuinThanks, best if we do the same for Butler, or he'll feel left out!
See Butler?
Detective_ConanGood idea! It's exactly seven days until my birthday!! I'm hoping for a new keyboard (musical one, of course) and some new Agatha Christie books.
I have some sheet music for the Poirot theme!
Great another Bainton Gay! Yay! Is Bainton an American name but it sounds stragely like it could be British. I haven't heard the name before and I love it! I too am making a new character for a new story!
The Next Big Murder's nearly done. Ive typed it all up. I have to check spelling/grammar. I'll post it on here, hopefully tommorow.
I'd love to have Bainton Gray in another story though.
Won't be Bainton Gray?! What a shame! I have made a new character too! For my next story! Anyway I look forward to it!
Intriguing... I look forward to it!
Thanks Conan. it won't be Bainton Gray though. he's not able to solve this one, as it has to be set inthe 21st century instead of the 19th.
I think the motive is just a build-up of hate! That guy had serious issues... Instead of masquerading as a friend he should just talk his problems out with others.
I can't wait to read your story! I'm looking forward to it! ^_^<(♥)
Ahhh, very nice end Conan, well done. I love that melanchony feel. Was their any motive? a crime of passion perhaps?
I'm writing a story called The Next Big Murder.
The coffee cans were... just because I like canned coffee.
Violet asked Nikki a question. "When you arrived, the door was unlocked, am I right?"
"Y-Yes! But how did you know?"
"The killer found a way to enter the house after you had left. But you know perfectly well what I mean, Paul!" He gasped, and she glared at him. "You put some of that gum in the lock. Even if you took it away, there will be traces of your saliva in the lock. And why would that be there, I wonder? Also, why would your name be implied in the dying message left behind by the victim?"
"That's ridiculous! How can a funeral song request do that?" Paul was shouting.
"Well, I'll explain it to you. The song contained the word Serusier. That's the name of an artist whose full name is Paul Serusier... Very similar to your name, don't you think? Oh, and let me ask you... How did you know that the dying message was a request for a funeral song? Nobody told you that..."
Finally, he admitted it. "Yes. I killed him. He wrote that note as I threatened him with the knife. I didn't know it was a message... I thought it was just a last request! But I am really sorry... I wish now that I never even thought of it.."
"How stupid do you think I am?" Violet snapped. "You stapled that note to his head! That was a final act of hatred, which you carried out because killing him wasn't satisfying enough!" She fought back tears.
One month later, Violet visited the graveyard. She had an empty coffee can filled with water, with a rose in it. She laid it in front of the grave of the man who had died in the As The Dew murder. Under his name on the headstone she read this inscription:
If the time comes when you can walk with those legs
Will you head towards the Holy Ground?
And as the words danced in front of her eyes, a single tear fell.
Well I'm quite interested in finding out the motive. Plus what was all those coffee cans about?
Oh, I can do it now, if you like...
Then we will have to wait for your conclusion to Requiem for a famuliar victim.
Well, I'll be fine watching old episodes of GARNET TIME, their TV show... Like I'm doing right now!
I would like to send Garnet Crow around to yours to sing "Happy Birthday" next week, but I can't afford their plane tickets!
Good idea! It's exactly seven days until my birthday!! I'm hoping for a new keyboard (musical one, of course) and some new Agatha Christie books. I've also ordered some CDs from eBay (LOCKS, and THE TWILIGHT VALLEY) but that haven't arrived yet. So I have plenty to keep me busy until the game, yay! ^_^
Well at least you know the murderers not me! Maybe keep quiet and then see what happens?

You mean you don't know if your allowed to tell anyone! But if you don't tell someone, it could be too late, the killer has struck you off before you can speak!!! Ok, so I'm getting carried away, really getting into the murder mystery mood.
Maybe it might spoil things if you say, so I don't mind you keeping it to yourself. If you gave away too many clues, someone else might solve it.

The killer must be quaking in their boots at thought of us three sleuths!
Yeah, this little Mystery Club should stick together!
Thanks, best if we do the same for Butler, or he'll feel left out!
I don't want to be killed off on here, but I could sing Morrissey "you have killed me" followed by Evanescence "bring me to life" which are among my my favourite songs! But not ones I'd want at my funeral though!
Yay! It's nice to see some avenging these days! If you are killed, it goes without saying that I'll do the same.
If you were killed off it wouldn't be fair, so I'm sure it would be done in a way so that anyone who wants to can solve it. But If you are killed Conan, I'll do my best to avenge your death and bring the murderer to justice!!
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it! So much so that if I get killed off during it, I may never visit this site again! *hint, hint, hint*
I wonder what happens to the winner?
I have nothing written. Work and other stuff has kept me too busy/tired to write. Butler can write his, although I'm looking forward to your conclusion Conan.
But this on site murder msytery might keep us busy for a while!
I almost forgot!! I still have to finish the Resolution Chapter of my story!
You should decide between yourselves... Either way, this time I'm ready! (yaaay for self-confidence!!)
Since Miss Quinn guessed that far to well can I have another shot? Please?
I like Alan Davies in QI but I don't like Creek!
I think I have only seen one!
I have read in a TV mag that there is a new one for Easter. Will you watch it?
Yes, a brilliant episode. One of the best ones actually.

Was it an accident? Like, the suit fell on him and stabbed him? I'm not too sure how the daughter came out and the door was still locked...
By the way, in my story-- the vitim was a slightly more aged version of me!!
So can you solve it?
Lisa was coming down the stairs with a bundle of washing and saw Kathleen coming out of her father's study. She disappeared down a darkened corridor when she saw her mother. Lisa put down her washing when she arrived at the door. She knocked three tines but there was no reply. She tried to open the door but as usual it was locked. There was only one key and Edward always had it with him. Nervously she knocked again but there as no reply. No noise. She was worried and with one swift kick broke the lock. She surprised herself. And she opened the door.
Her husband lay flat on his face the huge sword buried deep into his back. He was facing the window. She shouted loudly for her daughter and she came rushing down the corridor. Phone the police! Your dad has been killed! She cried. Both mother and daughter suspected each other. But who was really capable of murder?
Here goes!
Mr Edward Littlewaite sat in his his old leather chair in front of a battered old desk. On the desk sat letters in piles and a copy of his new book “Life of Apes” and an envelope. He reached for his pen from under one of the piles and signed it ready to post it back later. His study was away from the main house and was lined with bookcases with leather-bound books on science and nature. Edward had a very important job. He was in charge of a huge facility that his parents set up that specialised on animal research. This meant he was a target of many animal protesters some of them very dangerous. In the corner of the room by the large window stood a suit of armour and a large sharp sword. Mr Littlewaite's wife Lisa and her daughter Kathleen were the only ones who lived at the house. Lisa saw the figure of her husband going into his study. She never called out for him because he often gave her a row for disrupting his work
Thank you very much Miss Quinn!
Have I missed something? I don't see how the victim looked like he'd been seen before?
It's my turn, but it's been a loooong day. I'm more than happy to let you have your go Butler. oh I nearly forgot, happy birthday!
Mine too!
I have a new story just say the word!
Everyone loves The Beatles! Even the members of GARNET CROW! Their single Namida no Yesterday (Tearful Yesterday) has a cover that is based on the design of the Beatles' singles in Japan... OK, I've decided I know too much about GARNET CROW.
Dead Man's Folly has Mrs Oliver, in all her glory! She's so cool! Definitely one of my favourite characters ^-_-^
I think I will get Dead Man's Folly as I have heard so much good things about it!
Garnet Crow eh? And I thought I was strange being a fan of The Beatles
Joking of course Conan!

Just noticed reading it in Japanese that the only word that's in english Serusier who is a French abstract artist but how does that fit in?
But Japanese is just pictures? How does that help?
Ah! Then who would WANT to see a movie like that? *grins*
No, I mean NOT the translation! The untranslated, original Japanese version will make everything clearer ^_^
Just read that the theme song to Lost Ship in the Sky is Over drive by Garnet Crow? How could they have been going to see it if it hasn't already been released yet?
The link for the translationof the song? I have already found a non-virus one.
Do you need the link?
I'm looking forward to it :)
I feel like an idiot now Conan!
Just you wait for my new story! That will make your head hurt for days!
Maybe... or maybe someone very smart!! If you're very, very nice to me, I could give you a link to a non-virus website where "the word" is explained...
Who would do that? An idiot perhaps Conan?
Got the lyrics in english letters but still in Japanese (if you know what I mean?) but still no!
Okay, here's a hint. If you look at a version that hasn't been translated of the lyrics, the word you want will stand out so much!
As for the victim... Think about what he ordered, apart from can coffee, who do you think would leave such a dying message, and go to see a film like that? The answer may surprise you.
The twist could be that the victim is actually really one of the suspects and the murderer assumed his identity? For instance the man should have known about the Garnet Crow song but didn't? Miss Quin that is a good explanation! I would not be surprised if you were on the money!
This reply contains spoiler information. Show reply
Another thing I have a theory that I'm working on but do the suspects know each other?
Ah! Just noticed it says "Sweet memories of going out together" so maybe it's the woman who was to the cinema with him?
Got the lyrics in english from youtube!
Read it a number of times and your story but not sure what I'm looking for? The name of the suspect? The items they had in their posession?
Another clue please Conan? About the victim's famuliarity.
Maybe...
Any closer to the murderer?

Oh, and I could never kill off Hannah. She's too much like me :) I really hate phone conversations, too.
This reply contains spoiler information. Show reply
The only person seen in the story before the victim, is Hannah. But I don't see her as being dressed as a man and killed. Maybe a hint please?
That's quite all right...
I'll give you a hint if you want it, because the answer is quite difficult to figure out...
oh dear
I'm so sorry about joking about the avoiding that person in the t-shirt. Well you'd avoid me if you saw me early in the mornings!
The victim could have been a cafe customer? so Voilet has seen him before.
It's actually a T-shirt I really want! But it's so rare, and only around for a limited time...
I wondered why James Smith's not in prison, but I thought he might have an electronic tag. I would avoid a man wearing that t-shirt, it has a strange sound to it!
hmmm. it could be he's famous and been on TV/films?
Close, but no banana. (Ooh, I love that phrase!) He's in prison at the moment...
The one in the story is actually a real T-shirt. It's where I got the company name. I guess there's no way you could have known that, I suppose.
The victim's James Smith from the computer murders!
The word "lock on" on the T-shirt is the company name.
It could... but you may be surprised by the answer. ^_^
The victim is in this story? or could it be a character from one of your previous tales.
It might make it a little too simple, but I'll consider it... But it could be very confusing for someone looking at the last post and seeing something that's mostly not in English. Any ideas as to who the victim might be?
You could copy and paste the lyrics on here, or would that make things too simples to solve?
Oh! I meant the cans were empty, by the way. The ones in the house, anyway...
I know... I have that too, but recently I can't see the little bubble thingys any more. It's so annoying! I want to know if stuff is okay to go on before I go on it! Actually, I have a competition with my brother using that- we see who can find a website with the most viruses. Phrases like "super fast download antivirus" are sure to get ridiculous amounts!
My musings so far without reading the song lyrics... why order so much coffee, when the flat already has so many cans? Then Nikkii has a can too, which is odd...mmm. Could be a ruse, the persons just a caffeine freak.
Yes, Ive got norton safe search. It has colour lights next to sites on google. Green supposedly means safe... well I clicked on one for The Smiths and it had a pop up! I manged to close it before it loaded, whew!! I love reading song lyrics and it upsets me that a talented song writers words, should be spoiled by pop ups and nasties!!!
You'll just need to find the lyrics... And please beware of dodgy lyrics websites! Pick one that looks respectable. I know all too well the viruses that can end up on your computer. >_<
I might add that the particular word you're looking for will stand out a lot...
Oh, I enjoyed reading that Conan, well done. Can I ask a question? Do I have to know the Garnet crow song to solve this?
Okay, I finished! Who's the killer? And who's the victim...?
Everyone had seen the victim alive. They had arrived in the following order, which Violet took a note of in her Hello Kitty notebook:
Harry Freeman
Sarah Greene
Paul Summers
Nikki Avery
They searched the suspects' belongings. Harry Freeman had a lighter, an iPod, a conductor's baton, and a pack of cigarettes.
Sarah had a small toy cat, a pair of extendable chopsticks, a mobile phone, some hair pins, some earphones and a pen and notebook.
Paul had a set of keys with a pyramid keyring, a packet of chewing gum, a mobile phone, a blank postcard, and a pencil
Nikki had a cinema ticket to a film called Lost Ship in the Sky, a diary, a can of coffee with a post-it note marked with ♥ attatched to it, an iPhone, and a set of keys.
"Oh! Do any of you know of a song called As the Dew?" Violet spoke up.
"Do you mean a hymn called Fresh as the Dew of the Morning?" Harry knew a lot about music. But that didn't seem right...
Violet thought long and hard about the case. Eventually she decided to look up the song on her phone. She found it, then a certain word made her realise who the killer was! But that still didn't answer the mystery of the victim's identity...
After some time, Hill had assembled four people at the house. The first was a young woman with blue hair. Her name was Sarah Greene and she said she had visited the house to return a book. The next was a man named Paul Summers, who said he had visited to give the victim a present that he had bought while on a holiday in Egypt. Violet asked "Is that the model Sphinx in the bedroom?"
"Yes it is..." he replied with sad eyes.
The thid was a very tall man with sunglasses. His name was Harry Freeman. "I wanted to ask for my music book back." he said. "That guy had a bad habit of borrowing stuff for too long."
The final person was a quiet woman with long hair. "My name is Nikki Avery." She said it almost in a whisper. "I came here today because we were going to the cinema tonight..." She broke into very quiet tears.
She looked at his forehead and pushed his hair aside to read a note that had been stapled there: The song I would like to be played at my funeral is "As the Dew", it read. His T-shirt, which seemed to bear the words "Are you ready to Lock On?!", was stained in dry blood. Looking at him, she felt a strong sense of familiarity. She checked the house for signs of forced entry, but there were none. He had admitted the killer to his own home... Violet called for the police with shaking fingers.
They arrived shortly and Violet was greeted at the door by DCI Hill.
"Violet! How are you? I haven't seen you since that Whisper case... And I heard about that plane murder, too! Very impressive!"
"This is no time for that!" Violet screamed tearfully. But this was infact Hill's way of making people feel better. It worked. "Sorry. The guy's through here..." She led him through, and he drew his breath in sharply through his teeth.
They discussed possibilities together for a while, then Hill went off to interview the neighbours about who had visited the house. Violet checked all the rooms. The house was a bit messy apart from a room which contained a grand piano. The house was littered with coffee cans. And yet these surroundings seemed so familiar!
Is it a plan, to have us hanging on, waiting with abaited breath?! Of course I'm only joking
we know your busy.
Do you write one bit at a time? Everyone has their own method. I wrote all of mine out in one go, then later went back and made some alterations.
So sorry! I've been really busy lately. The second part is right around the corner!!
I'm sure it's part one, theres been no song so far. I love the title Conan.
I'm sorry is this just part one?
OK, here it is. Guess the identity of the killer - and of the victim in today's case: Requiem for a Familiar Victim.
The phone rang. Once, twice... It went on and on. Hannah picked it up while glaring at Violet who never noticed. She was too busy staring at the crossword puzzle in the newspaper. She chewed on her pencil, while Hannah's phone conversation rang in her ears.
"You'd like HOW MANY??"
There was a muffled reply.
"No, of course..."
The person on the phone said something else.
"Finally, something normal. I mean... I said... that's a speciality!" Hannah wasn't great on the phone.
There was another tinny sentence.
"Yeah, I got it. I'll send someone round there right now..." She turned to Violet. "You're going to be delivering some stuff to this weirdo!" She gestured at the phone.
"Hannah, you never hung up!"
She hurriedly slammed the phone down. and began taking things from around the café, presumably for this delivery. She placed them all (with some force) onto the counter in front of Violet. When she had finished, there were ten cans of coffee, a stawberry shortcak, and a bottle of lemon tea. She handed Violet the address on a piece of paper.
As Violet raced down the road on a purple scooter, she tried to form an image in her head of someone who would buy ten cans of coffee... She sure hoped they wouldn't drink it all at once.
After 45 minutes of travelling, she arrived. The house was so far away from Marple...
She knocked the door. No answer. She called through the letterbox. No answer. She tried again and again with no answer. Eventually, she picked the lock with a hairpin and paperclip, and she pushed the door open. She walked into the lounge and what she saw made her scream. There was a man stabbed through the heart slumped into the corner.
Butler has his riddle atm, which I'm stuck on, then your free to puzzle and mysterfy us all. I Look forward to it.
Oh yeah, I remember seeing that... But I didn't think much of it at the time. Hey, maybe I should start my new story, the one with the "huuuuge twist"?
Oh, it's doesnt matter. Youve made me laugh and have you seen my terrible faux pass (social blunder) on the puzzle page? I was trying to guess the quote it turned out to be the guess the character game!!
I said to Tommy, "Ive read that somewhere" ...oh no.
Oh, I've phrased that terribly. I meant that Mabel was the assistant and the identifiable character... How embarrasing.
I don't personally identify with ducks, but they are cute!
The duck is Mabel West's (that's Miss Marple's new niece) pegt, and she becomes an assistant to Poirot. She doesn't do much except provide a link between Poirot and Miss M, and I think she's a character for young people to relate to.
I think the Harlequin tea set is the weakest Mr Quin story. Theres so much better ones. He's engimatic. The stories can be quite dark, intense and exciting. The character have alot of depth and I care what happens to them. The word "love detectives" wolud put some people off, but theres always death and sometimes madness involved. In a way Mr Quin is a version of Death. I read them in order and when you do so, you find more about Harley. Who is he, is he human? I wanted to read each one to find out.
adding a duck? I'am curious now!
I only read "The Harlequin Tea Set", it was in a compilation of mystery stories I got on holiday. But I'm going to try and get my hands on it soon!
The Christie anime is called "Agatha Christie's Great Detectives Poirot and Marple". Yeesh, what a big name! Miss M and Poirot look quite cute in it, you could maybe find some pictures on Google, I think. Apart from adding a duck, a new niece for Miss Marple, and changing the name of Inspector Japp (though I think that's understandable) it's quite faithful. However, some things don't work translated into Japanese...
I never thought of him as cute, but the figure would be. I don't know about Miss Marple though. It might be hard to know it's her.
I wouln't watch the Poirot animation's personally. I like seeing the actors/actresses/ Well actually I like seeing certain actors quite alot, ahem, but Mr Quin would be very good. Have you read those Conan?
Yes, I can see him like that... Cute, in a dignified way.
Poirot would work well as one of those ningyo dolls that are the rage atm.
Yes! 10 Conan Points :) The anime was Detective Conan, where I got my user name. This year they're doing the ending theme tune for the 14th Conan movie. I can't wait to hear it... There's an Agatha Christie anime out there, actually... I haven't seen much of it, though.
Were Garnet Crow ever played in a TV progamme you like? An anime perhaps? I know nothing about anime I'm afraid.
If I save up my points, I could have a thorntons easter egg!! You could have it iced at Thorntons with a Poirot face on.. only kidding.
Aww, that's sad '_'
I really enjoyed your mystery, by the way...
Has anyone guessed? Why I love GARNET CROW? 10 Conan Points up for grabs... But that's not a lot of points, actually. Like 10 pence.
Theres a song I love by White lies Unfinnished business, it's full of symbolic meanings. Like the mention of a cypress tree, which means death. Hence the poem and book Sad Cypress.
Also love Hungry Lucy song Alfred (haunted) but it's so sad. This lady's partner Alfred dies. She keeps hearing him calling to her to help him. It's unclear if she's gone mad with grief or it's his ghost. She becomes ill from pining for him. Shegets sent away then returns home to find he's still trapped there. Somewhat tragic isnt it?
Ok thanks! The link by the way is five posts back! It 'll give you some clues!
ok then, think it's best if it's on one page, so if you start at new thread. I don't know that music. I'll read your mystery anyway though.
It is quite macabre and just plain strange! It's not scary! Really it's not!
It is quite long though so should I post it in another post?
Congrats on creating a detective that's ocupation hasn't been used yet!
Hat seller gives them an exuse to visit grand houses such as Barnaby Hall!
Yes, it's your turn. How can I refuse when your so eager. Please warn me if your story is marcabre, that gives me the shivers!
Is it my go? Please say yes! Just forgot to say that Danse Macabre inspired my new mystery so there will be a few clues in it!
Conan have you heard Danse Macabre? Its a piece of music based on a poem which in turn is based on a old French tradition that says that Death appears at midnight on Halloween and plays his fiddle and skeletons rise from the dead! The link is on my post before this one!
I have no idea where GARNET CROW fit in on the musical genre thing... They do lots of different styles. It's a little bit like pop, I guess, but the lyrics are 4000% more meaningful. Here's a verse from "Holy Ground":
While holding uncertain emotions
While heading home, it all sublimates
If I've nothing to protect
What can I pray for?
"May the world be embraced someday by a gentle light..."
Can we really change
By speaking such a hypocritical wish?
I love this song so much. Also, here's a scary quote from the stunningly cute AZUKI Nana. She writes the lyrics and plays keyboard (like me!): "80-90% of the time, I insert death scenes to satisfy myself." This is giving me an idea for another mystery story, with a huuuge twist! 10 Conan Points to anyone who can correctly guess where my love for GARNET CROW comes from, by the way
Yeah! I suppose I started the trend! Have you heard a piece of music by French composer Camille-Saint-Saens called Danse Macarbre? It translates as Dance of Death and it inspired my new puzzle.
Link-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdLoTPUNtD0&feature=fvw
And this link is for Wiki-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danse_macabre_(Saint-Sa%C3%ABns)
Makes very intresting reading! After reading this you will know what my puzzle will be about!
Beware people in 1872 when it was fist performed were deeply disturbed!
By the way I don't like this type of music. It was only because my music teacher who weirdly also likes the Beatles played it in class!
I like some classical music too. My music might be strange to some people, but some of it's just different and away from the norm. I like some more well known rock bands, but pop or R&B music? Never! But I know everyone has the right to like what they like, so not be judged b others.
Have you read my story yet DC? :)
If you ever look up GARNET CROW, you'll find out just how weird my musical tastes are... Also, I like classical music :D
I love folk songs and they have been passed down so long ago, no-one knows who wrote them, or how long ago. Greensleeves is ancient and one of my favourites. It want written by Henry Vlll as the style wasnt around in his time, but he's often credited with it. Bit of a history lesson for you Butler! I like different types of music, but nothing in the charts at the moment.
It's good to like things before they become trendy!
I like them well before they were trendy. 100 years ago? Classical?
I'm not into what's trendy, I think people should like what they really want to like, not be swayed by others opinions. It's good to go against the grain, or against the masses. So if you like the Beatles, then I'm glad you say you do. I like music writen a few hundred years ago, so it's not like I think there old even!
Yeah money can't buy me love but it can buy me a Beatles t-shirt!
Its quite trendy now to like the Beatles although my brother prefers Chimpmunk or Eminen (is that how you spell it?) but the Beatles have sold over a billion albums worldwide!
By the way I am not the walrus but I do live in a yellow submarine!
Thank you, thank you Butler! I shouldnt have given such big hints, but you havent guessed how the murder was done, the reason for the person at the window!
I'm impressed you like the Beatles Butler.
And Conan when its my turn you can buy me a Beatles t-shirt I have my eye on!
Your story Miss Quinn has a Christie type element in it and mine not so much and Conan's nope (unless computers were invented at the time which I think not!)
I did have to reread it and you did give me some pretty big hints!
But it was well written compared to mine which just had bare details (I am working on my new one which is the most challenging puzzle I have done maybe even more than Conans! So you can imagine it will be difficult to put everything together!) so you have done very well!
By the way welcome our new member! The one and only Bundle!
My turn currently! But I'll see who get my puzzle correct, then I'll let whoever wants to, make a new puzzle. Mine took me a few hours! Now I think i made it too easy!
Well I wasn't a million miles away though!
Didn't know the backdoor thing was I should of Googled it! Knew it was something with computers but I asumed it was some type of software!
Is it my go?
What do you think Bundle of the Stories that have been so far?
Did you try to solve them without looking at the solution?
I'm posting my short story on another post, as it's pretty long.
Bundle, course you can join in! Everyone is welcome to.
NOTE: I changed "mace to "pepper spray", because mace is illegal here :)
This reply contains spoiler information. Show reply
I hope I can join in and play!
What strikes me as the most interesting is the CD player and the music it is was playing. I'm going to hazard a wild guess and say that the CDd player was playing so loudly that the vibrations from the music rumbled the desk and the posion pin (that was on the desk) fell off and stabbed the mans knee....
I also find the sticky marks interesting...perhaps it was tape...but if so then perhaps someone taped the pin to the desk....but if this is the case I am not sure why "they" did that.
Ok, last chance to make a guess. When I come back from school, you'll get the last part of the long-distance murder trick!
The ending theme is "Crystal Gauge"...
I have got a new mystery on standby but Miss Quinn has to got first.
Oh cool!
I'm writing a murder mystery, so I'll try finnish it and post it on here.
Sure Conan I'll buy you it! When I win the lottery!
Not sure how the back door thing is part of the soloution!
As much as this pains me to say Conan reveal all!
No, I suppose not. If every time you got one answer right, Butler would have no money left and vice versa.
I'm actually quite mysterfied by your story and Ihavnt got any idea how the murder was done, except the back door was involved.
Somehow, it doesn't feel right using a story to gain a cool t-shirt. Unless... Butler, do you want to buy me it? *hint, hint* I can save up money for it, anyway, I suppose.
If I guess right, then you wont have your free T-Shirt! I know how pricey those are. Shall I let Butler take a guess? If he's wrong (dont forget to tell him your T-shirt size) I'll put my idea of a solution!
Yes, it is :) I'm glad someone picked up on that. I always think alibi tricks like this are so daring... I wouldn't like to risk it, personally.
The game called back door could be a clue?
Definitely murdered, as I don't think suiciders would go to the trouble of stabbing under the knee, rather than the hand...
You two have been exercising the little grey cells while Ive been away! Good solution to the Mirror Mystery Butler.
Detective conan- Ive had to read your story quite a few times, as there are lots of objects to absorb. I know someone whose car's like the one in the story! The man was murdered wasnt he? I'm checking he didnt commit suicide, as death metal does do strange things to the mind!
It's close, but you couldn't use a remote-control from the cafe, since the infra-red light wouldn't reach the CD player. Also, take into account where he was stabbed...
Maybe the poisonous pin was on the top of the CD player. The CD player's top bit that opens to put a CD player was opened by remote. The pin landed on his lap and poisoned him! Anywhere near correct?
It's a bit of a complicated trick, but I tested it out... I wonder if my teacher is frustrated that I only write in one genre, or is it that he just can't solve them? I sure hope I don't end up like the two guys from the story...
My teacher used to give me weird looks from all the murders I used to write! Ok false clues. CD player in front of a computer? Play them on the computer! So maybe its a clue! I'll work on it.
I have written it before, for an essay in English class. I think the teacher is shocked by how many murder stories I hand in to him. I'll give you a hint- there are lots of things that are just false clues. Do I smell a T-shirt on the way...♪?
Well the sticky stuff maybe candle wax. Ballon? Noodles?
God knows. Have you wriiten this before or did you make it up as you went along?
Okay, it's time to guess! Good luck.
They pulled up at an apartment building after a silent car ride. He led her up the stairs to the top floor. "This is where I work with my business partner. He's actually a big fan of you!"
"Really..." Violet was beginning to regret coming out. So what if this weirdo was recieving hate mail?! She'd be happy to send it to him!
He unlocked the door and shouted "I'm back!" There was no answer. "Hello?" he called. Still no answer. He walked into the lounge where a man was slumped in front of a computer.
"DON'T TOUCH HIM!" Violet screamed. She rushed over, but he was dead...
She put his time of death at around three oclock, when James had been at Marple. On the desk in front of the dead man was an empty cup of tea, a can of coffee, six ballpoint pens, a webcam, a portable CD player that was playing some death metal music (Violet shuddered at the thought), and a glass hedgehog ornament. Where did these people get these things? How strange. Violet glanced up at the monitor. The dead man seemed to have been looking at a list of games they had made. Violet noticed titles like, Gunfight, Backdoor, Ultimate Monkey Fight, and Death Call. The desk and everything around it seemed to be covered in various sticky marks. Even on the front of the base unit, oddly enough. The two didn't look after their house. It was then that Violet noticed a pin with dried blood on the floor. She searched his neck for an entry wound. There wasn't one. The actual wound was just below the man's knee. The assailant would have had to been crawling on the floor to stick the poisoned pin in there...
Having found some very revealing things by the desk, Violet checked the windows and doors for signs of entry. There were none. The house had been locked during the murder. The only two possibilities were suicide, or that James had murdered him. But how could he have done it when he was at the café the whole time?
Okay, I have it! And if you lose... you have to buy me the GARNET CROW Live scope 2008 T-shirt. The story has an opening and ending theme tune! The opening is Mysterious Eyes by GARNET CROW.
Violet stared at the wall, thinking. The espresso machine of the Marple Café screeched behind her, but she took no notice. Could that really be the answer she needed to-
"Wake up, Vi!" called Hannah Jones, a boisterous individual who had been Violet's friend for seven years. "You got an order! Coffee to that weird-lookin' guy." She indicated a perfectly normal looking person who was tapping the keys of his laptop. "I bet he's stealin' our internet again..." She glared at him, with obvious dislike.
"But it's free..." Violet took the coffee and left the kitchen. She served it to him with a smile she had perfected over many months. He looked up at her with wide, fearful eyes.
"You..." he intoned, in a voice that chilled Violet's spine. "You have to help me."
"How?"
"I'm James Smith and I run a games company, LockOn Games. Recently we've been recieving... hate mail from someone we don't know. You've been in the news, with that plane murder, right? Please help us!"
"Um, OK..." She was nervous. This guy was a little strange...
"Follow me, please!"
Violet took her coat, hat, and bag (nervously fingering the bottle of mace she kept there), announced that she would take her break, and stepped out into the cold November air. He led her to his car and she stepped in. It was a mess. Violet noticed heaps of papers, an empty cup noodles with a fork, a bunch of roses (how strange! she thought), a deflated balloon, and a candle. The things some people put in their cars were unbeleivable!
Awww... I feel deflated. Now let's see... I am trying now to get another good mystery out of my brain.
Miss Quinn don't look if you don't want to know!

I'm going to have to say... please reveal all, please.
It tears me up inside to say it....
Anymore ideas before the solution is revealed?
Again? Well, if you say so. Could the solution be face make-up? He wiped his brow to remove make-up then in putting on his mask wiped it off? But I must know...
Stumped AGAIN! 2-1 to me Conan!
I'll give you a sort of clue. The hotel manager was there because he was giving Kath special treatment so she didn't write bad things about the hotel. It's there if you read it!
Sorry! I've been away for a while...
Firstly, I think they could have switched while she was under the table, since it would be hard to put on a mask while one hand is full of head and the other is full of knife. And if they had switched, maybe the other man is really the hotel manager? By pulling off the mask, it almost seems like he's trying to say, "Look! I'm not the one who attacked you!" But a convincing disguise seems hard to find without resorting to the ridiculosity of Vermouth in the Detective Conan series. Also, I wonder why the hotel manager was at the door? If I was him, I'd probably be busy with other guests...
TheButlerDidITYeah that would be good! Where are you going away to somewhere nice and warm I hope! Lucky you!
Thanks Butler.
Well Ive read the story and Ive not much of an idea! First I thought the mirror's a two way one, but that wouldnt work as it would still be a mirror on the surface. Then I thought the white man switched with the black man whilst her head was under the table. The black man ran off and the ginger one hid. But that's not quite right, somehow I think the mirror could be a major part...
I expect Conan will know the answer. You see why Ive not come up with my own story, I'm as as useful as Jane Hellier at the Miss Marple dniner parties.
Yeah that would be good! Where are you going away to somewhere nice and warm I hope! Lucky you!
Can I submit another mystery? Well here goes!
Katherine Templar is a journalist. She is not well liked and there is simply not a celebrity scandal she has not uncovered. Kath is staying at the Arms Hotel and the manager scared of her writing something bad about the hotel had given her the best room. After her long haul flight she took a shower. She was sitting on a stool in front of the mirror hairdrying her long blode hair when a man dressed in black wearing a ski mask was brandishing a long knife at her throat. She bent down with her head level with the table in front of her. She watched in the mirror her attacker. He couldn't see that she was watching and he was sweating a lot and removed his mask and saw the face of a white bald man with a ginger moustache. The man wiped his brow then noticed she was watching and forced her head under the table and placed the knife closer to her neck. She couldn't see the attacker now. The man had put the mask back on. There was a sudden thump at the door and the man panicked and ran to the door. At the door was the hotel manager and was shocked when the man with the knife opened the door and pushed him but the manager managed to pull off the attackers mask. The attacker looked round and Kath who by now was at the door saw her attacker. She was shocked. The man was black! It was a different man! Kath was so so confused and upset.
So again all clues are there! Another good one I hope! Well done Conan your story was very well written!
Any puzzles would be greatly appreciated! I totally don't mind about this post going off topic, by the way. Since it's mine you may use it as you all please...
I would like to, but as I'm away for over a week, I cant check your answers. You'd be left dying of suspense! I don't think I'd come up with anything very good anyway.
Maybe we can recruit another member? Anyone out there have a good puzzle to solve?
Well, it's your turn to make a puzzle, unless you don't want to. :)
But people still have to go into the optitions for their contact lenses. So they will be quaking in terror!
That's why contact lenses are a better choice. Actually, I think the idea of a thing like that on my eye would totally put me off...
gasp!
Butler had the right killer! I should have gone with my first instinct. You know people reading this will be scared to go to specsavers? They will eye each other nervously in the waiting area!

I also had the idea that the pen could have concealed a small knife. That 3 answers Ive given.. I'll have to pick one.
Connect 4 still seems dodgy s I'll go with that.
I'm back! Last chance to get in a final guess before I reveal all...
I'll write the final part when I return home from school today, but some theories you have come up with are quite close...
I did suspect the French Lady Mathilde Roux having something concealed behind her ear.. but I changed my mind. Butler, your correct ear rubbing is a nervous habit...I think you could be onto something!
Forgot to say very well writen Detective conan. and to you Butler for your story about the body in the water.
A tool you said? Hmm well what about a blade hidden in a strrap in someones arm. Or maybe something to do with the Eiffel tower keyring. Wait just had a thought I wonder if the French lady and the man with the keyring know each other? The French lady must have been lying to Violet because she was rubbing her ear so it could be her tell. (you know what I mean by that? It means that she does that when she's lying about something). Is anything I have said right? And Connect 4 red herring I think beacuse it would to obvious!
Garnet Jones, it's very odd that she took connect 4 on holiday, seems out of character. A small sharp knife could be concealed inside.. I bet your laughing now DC!
No, but I get to relax in the knowledge that I wrote a good mystery...
If I got I wrong, am I barred from the dectective club?!
Good luck! It took so long to type. When everyone decides on a killer and method, I'll post the final part- that of the conclusion! And I want a TV that looks like a panda too.
I'm reading and and thinking..
Ok, I've finished! Who wants to guess?
Garnet had a small bottle of perfume, (a particularly offensive scent), a digital camera, a travel sized board game (Connect 4) and some make-up. Clearly she found personal appearances very important.
Michael Brown had a wallet bulging with dollars and pounds (he glared at Violet as she looked inside) a travel convertor, some paracetamol, a novelty pen of a pornographic nature, and a guide to New York.
Finally David's luggage was searched. He had three books (all of them mysteries), a sock (he explained it was his lucky sock) a picture of a small baby ("My daughter", he proudly smiled) a map of New York, an Eiffel Tower keyring, and an empty notebook.
Nobody had anything that could serve as the murder weapon! Violet suggested a strip-search to the stewards. Violet apologetically searched Mathilde and Garnet in the plane's bathroom, and then a male steward searched David, Michael and Frank. Nothing turned up.
Violet thought about it. She thought, and thought, and thought. Nothng came to mind. Until she remembered something. "I know who killed the man! You did it very daringly, but you let yourself down. YOU killed him!" She pointed.
The next person she spoke to was a man with longish hair who wore an expensive watch and a shirt with a high collar. He eyed Violet up and down. "A... waitress questioning me?" he asked in a mocking tone. He was cold and unfeeling. "Well, I'm Michael Brown. I'm not going to lie to you, I didn't get on with Dean. Too much of a showoff. He paid for our tickets here, you see. As if I needed his charity!" Violet left him ranting to himself.
The final person was another man, David Crowe. He was a shy man who held a book (The Pale Horse) in his shaking hand. He flinched as Violet asked him about his relationship with the victim.
"He was a nice guy. He always looked out for me, providing that I would help him with coursework. I was fine with it, though. When he paid for us to go to the conference here, I leapt at it, since I can't spare much money." Violet had an idea who killed Dean Parker, but no proof...
"I'm going to check your hand luggage now. Legally, you can refuse, but it would probably be easier if you let me do it." After some conferring everyone handed in their bags.
Violet checked them in the order that she spoke to everyone in. Frank had a pack of cards, a pack of cigarettes, a mobile phone, an iPod and a Rubik's cube.
Mathilde had a nail file (but it was too blunt and wide to have made the wound), a French-English dictionary, a CD player and a pen and paper, which was covered in doodles.
Violet asked a man, who was around six feet tall, with giant boots, a leather jacket, and headphones, some questions.
"This man..." she asked gingerly. "What ... is his name?" The choice of whether to use "is" or "was" is a hard one.
"He's called Dean Parker. He studies psychology at university with the rest of us... We're going to a conference." This man was clearly shaken, but he was doing his best not to let it show. His eyes lit up with recognition. "You're that waitress! The one who solved the Whisper Murder!" This was true, but it was really only because of a badly-placed mousetrap.
"What's your name?" she asked.
"I'm Frank Morley. You probably want to know how we got on, right? Well, he's my best friend, so there you go." His tone had become confrontational. Violet decided to speak to someone else.
"My name is Mathilde Roux." This woman was French. She wore glasses and a bob haircut, and seemed to have a habit of scratching behing her right ear. "I am going to New York with everyone to attend a conference." Her English was good, but scholarly and broken up in places. "Never do I expect a thing like this to happen..." She scratched her ear and held back tears.
Violet asked "How do you know Dean?"
"He was good friend to me. He helped me with language when first I come here." Again she scratched her ear.
Violet spoke to Garnet Jones next, who was Dean's girlfriend. She had curly blonde hair and long painted nails. Her perfume stung Violet's nose. She was sobbing gently. "I'm never going to see him again. Never..." Violet had no idea how this could feel. "I've loved him since high school. We were always a couple..."
Ok, this is a puzzle about a vanished weapon, and a daring killer. It's called: A LOCKED ROOM IN THE SKY.
Violet Philips sat back in her seat, trying to drown out the sound of some drunks behind her. She thought to herself , "Why do they even sell alcohol on planes? This is the only result." Already, the three men had worked their way through seven sachets of gin, three of cognac, and countless bottles of beer. An argument broke out between a couple towards the front of the plane: "Why didn't you pack sunscreen?" yelled the woman whose hair was clearly dyed. The man, who seemed to be suffering from a cold, replied "Because they'll sell it there!" They went on like this. It seemed to Violet that winning the tickets in the Café Marple staff raffle had been a curse rather than a prize. All she had really wanted was that TV that looked like a panda! Yet here she was, strapped into a seat thirty thousand feet above the ground heading for New York.
To shut out the outside noise, she tried to listen to music. She raised the volume to an unbearable level, and finding it useless decided to sleep.
She slept for around two hours, until she was awoken by an announcement spoken in panicked tones. "Is there a doctor on board this plane? One of the passengers is seriously ill!" Violet had trained as an nurse before deciding on the quieter job of being a waitress at Marple, so she decided to help. The air stewardess directed her to where a man was slumped in his seat, surrounded by five people who were all very flustered. Violet could see a thin trickle of congealing blood on the man's neck. He was dead. Above the blood was a thin stab-mark about 5mm in length, and around 1 mm wide. It seemed to have come from a thin tool, clearly not a normal knife. The most likely people to have murdered this man... were the five around him.
I'll let Detective Conan choose a mystery, as he clearly wants to! Plus I'll be away for over a week, so I wont' be here to check the answers.
Yes, I worked out the body would float and his arms would move postion. I had to keep quiet though. Perhaps wnen I come back, I try think of something to puzzle you all. I'm not that great a mystery/puzzles. I might solive them, but not think of any.
I love the Tuesday night Club, but I'm amazed how every members hves been connected with murders!
OK Conan all the facts are there. The bridge means water so a river. The house was abandoned why because there were storms after it was built. Which means the river bursts its banks so the water seeped into the house eventually the water level rose lifting Gidoen up the stairs. After three months all the water escapes and Gideon is left on the stairs!
Just a note Conan I would have told you if there was a window because if it was part of the soloution I would have been cheating you. Well done Conan and Miss Quinn for guessing sort of half right!
Your turn Conan unless Miss Quinn has a mystery. Is it me or is this sounding a bit like the Tuesday Night Club from the Thirteen Problems?!
Please! We must know! Then I'll do a mystery.
DC wheeeey! Thats the solution I thought off. Except mine didnt have the window cracking.
Now Butler, your big moment...reveal if the solution is correct!
My plan of attack... it took 2 full days. But now... heh heh heh... I have a clearer idea! If water from a stream or whatever (which I think the bridge must go over) was directed into the room to fill it, the body could float. It floated (by coincidence) over to the stairs, and if there was a window there, then water pressure would crack it and then break it open with the pressure being roughly that of being hit by a car. The water would drain away, and since it was three months until the body was found, that's enough time for everything to dry out. But that's just a theory...
It is hard Butler! DC full marks for determination and trying so hard.
Is your brain hurting Conan? LOL
Grrr... I think fishing line has something to do with it. Sweet fishing line, the mystery author's oldest friend... In fact, no. No fishing line. I take it back. Ahh... I have a plan of attack, which may take a few hours though...
I think what I'll do Conan is make it easier for you mate.
Reading throught it again I saw that I never made somethings clear enough like the contacts thing so I changed it so it says contacts in the drugs trade. OK?
TheButlerDidITCan you work this mystery out?
A young couple called Ben and Susan are desperate for money. So desperate that they agree to be drug mules bringing dope from abroad. They need to meet the man who will tell them what to do in detail. The man is called Gideon. They are told to meet Gideon at an abandoned old farmhouse called Windy Gate Farm. They drive to the farm over a bridge and finally arrive. Gideon is an old, weak man with contacts in the drugs trade. Gideon was dangerous, they were told by one of Ben's friends. Ben bought a gun from a man in a pub and takes it with them. Gideon takes a shine to Susan much to her disgust. Ben warns Gideon to keep away from his wife. They argue and Ben shoots Gideon six times in the head. Gideon is dead. They panic and hide the body of Gideon in the cellar near the table at the far corner at the other end of the room and lock and bolt the door from outside. They run from the house and drive away. A three months later one of Gideon's friends find the body. Ben and Susan read in the newspaper that Gideon's body was found. So how did Gideon's dead body travel over 100 feet across the cellar? Ben is extremly worried that Gideon has come back from the dead....
Does this help?
Yep, I think Ive got it worked out Butler. Couldnt post it though! I think if I'm right, the body was damp when it was found??
Out of fairness to DC I wont say anymore.
But if you cant guess DC, can I write what I think happened?
This reply contains spoiler information. Show reply

I think Ive worked it out, but as you enjoy your puzzles DC I will leave you to guess.
I will write a clue of what I think it in the next post but Detective conan, you musn't look!!
No... It's a matter of personal dignity!
Really got you stumped!
Give in?
Ah, not yet... I really don't want to lose to it yet!
Yeah I know. It took me ages to make up. You want to know the answer yet?
Oh, I see. This is quite a tricky one...
When you say he has contacts... you could either mean contact lenses or people who he contacts. Naturally we would assume contact lenses, since this is in a sentence with Gideon's description But maybe he has "contacts" at the newspaper? But that's not my final answer. I may be some time with this one...
Can you work this mystery out?
A young couple called Ben and Susan are desperate for money. So desperate that they agree to be drug mules bringing dope from abroad. They argue and Ben stikes Gideon with a candlestick. Gideon is dead. They panic and hide the body of Gideon in the cellar near the table at the far corner at the other end of the room and lock and bolt the door from outside. They run from the house and drive away. A week later one of Gideons friends find the body. Ben and Susan read in the newspaper later that week that Gideon's body was found on the stairs with one hand reaching for the door at the top. Can you solve it? All the answers are there just connect!
Something like a string might be good, but there is a piano there... Although I might end up damaging it by trying to stop a note from sounding. This year, I intend to outshine everyone at the piano-playing! I have been practicing so hard. I can play GARNET CROW's Mysterious Eyes the whole way through, it sounds pretty good.
My favourite thing to strangle someone with would be a piano wire which with only a little brute force can sever someones head clean off. But be careful as there as a lot of blood. I nearly got caught last time!
Sounds absolutely perfect! This way, I could use Yoshikawa lines (those scratch marks made by fingernails when someone tries to free themselves. Named after the guy who first discovered their significance.) to put some blood on the strangley thing to serve as proof! It's all coming together! Thank you eveyone for your help. Hopefully this will be the best murder hunt ever...
In Dead man's Folly, a girl was pretending to be strangled for the murder mystery game. She just lay on the floor, I think the murder had taken what they used to strangle away with them. It makes it look more mysterious.
detective_conanNow I just need a good murder method. Nothing too violent, but it must be physical. Any ideas for this?
I'm trying to come up with something to help you..
It's almost finished! Already! Now I just need a good murder method. Nothing too violent, but it must be physical. Any ideas for this?
Well, I love puzzles and this kind of thing, so I spent a looooong time at it. I could re-use some things I used last year, but change the codes so they are still challenging. I think that's a great idea to use, and I am thinking up the clues now...
Well done Conan! You could use this for your murder mystery hunt!
It's written phonetically. I'm pleased you solved it. You must be the ideal person to be organising the hunt.
Ah... very clever. I like it! After some time trying anagrams, I decided to try sounds of the words. During a Cockney accent attempt at saying it, it clicked in my head. The solution... is a number. 01902382701, I think, unless I have sounded it out wrong. It could be combined with a great code- If you get a phone keypad and type 1232580*0# then this makes the shape of the letter I. You can write words like this:
147*456369#/1234789*0#/147*0#/147*0#/12369#0*741
Looking back, I feel pretty smart~
Good luck deducing this one! Anybody else figured it out yet?
This puzzle or another of the type would be great for your Murder Mystery Hunt Conan!
It's either an anagram or something to do with the sounds of the words. Don't tell me yet, I'm going to deduce this one out.
Just had a eureka moment! Can you solve this?
"Oh when I know to free hate, to sever no one."
You'll never guess so so simple!
That happened in A Pocketful of Rye
Oh, I like that. "Sing a Song of Sixpence" could lead to the clothes line, from the part when the maid is hanging out the clothes. I'm going to have to think about prizes to give out, too, and persuade my friend into playing a corpse. All very hard work!
It is clever!
What about basing a clue on a nursery ryhme like Agatha Christie has done on a number of occasions?
I'e never been to Brighton, but I have heard good things~♪I live in Scotland too, by the way.
The answer to my riddle? Playing Cards. A rich king is the King of Diamonds, the queen who falls in love is the Queen of Hearts, and the suicide knight is the Jack of Clubs. It's so clever of me, if I do say so myself...
Tell me! I want to know!
I am sorry about the plot idea it sounds far to dark to be a Christie.
I need to get out more as I watch far too much tv !
I am actually in the rather dreary process of writing my own novel. Although it is a crime book it will be modern and I am toying whether to set it in the country (too much like Midsomer Murders though) or maybe Brighton. That would be difficult because I live in Scotland! Any suggestions? I thought of having my detective or detectives' sidekick as being Irish because of the racisim towards them. Any advice?
Right now, I'm typing up a draft of the backstory and rules. And here's a riddle that will lead to a household object I spent all day at school thinking up! "On the night of the murder, the king became rich. The queen fell in love and the knight killed himself with his own weapon." See if you can tell what this is leading to... (It is , however, unrelated to the actual murder.)
It is rather dodgy and wise thinking Conan. I think keeping it in the light hearted Christie style is more fun, than bringing disturbing subjects into it.
That sounds really interesting! The only problem is that rape seems a little dodgy to bring into it since the youngest person playing as a girl aged ten and the oldest will be... fifteen, I think. But you should definitely take that plot further, I bet it could make a great book♥
MissQuin, I think opium seems quite do-able. I looked it up on Wikipedia, and it seems easy to make- apparently you just slash part of the flower and collect the liquid produced.
Any other suggestions are also welcome!
Instead of a drug what about someone was supposdly hypnotised into commiting murder. The hynptist gets the person he has hynotised to kill his lover by making the hypnotised person think it is his mum who left him when he was a baby. The lover is sleeping on her bed and is shot. The hypnotist orders the hypnotised person to kill four more people. The police by now think it is the hypnotist who killed his lover. The police arrest the hypnotist for the murder of his lover but thinks the hypnotised person will commit four more murders. So the hypnotist plans to fool the police by making them think it wasn't him because he will be behind bars at the time of the next four murders. The hypnotised person was not hypnotised at all because it is impossible to hypnotise someone to commit murder and is really his son after the hypnotist raped a schoolgirl and hypnotised her into beliving it wasn't him that raped her. He wants revenge on his dad. The son doesn't commit the next murders to make the police think it was the hypnotist.
What do you think?
Ok, had a think... theres a classic book, I wont name it in case it spoils the solution for people! Anyway, a charcater was unknowingly given opium. The person who gave it them intended to induce them to commit a crime whilst under the influence of the drug. I think they were told over and over again what they must do and they did it...
How believable it it I don't know, but the author must have known enough about the drug as they took it themselves!!
Looking at it now, I can see my title could have been misinterpreted... Still, maybe it'll attract more people and answers like that! It should be good fun, and thanks for your post :)
For a minute there I thought you were planning a real murder by poison!!! Only joking...

I'm making a Murder Hunt (inspired by Dead Man's Folly!) for some kids who I go on holiday with. Last year I just had a treasure hunt with enigmatic clues to solve (in fact, there were some really fiendish ones! For example, "Fa La Ti Mi Mi" to mean "Table" , they found the next clue on the table.) This time, I'm putting a Christie-type spin on things! So I need the name of a good poison that can make people go mad and kill someone. I'd also appreciate any cool puzzles like the one above! It's not until June, but I'm going to plan it ahead so it goes over well.
I'll let you know how it turns out!
