The horrible truth ;)

Had it ever occured to you that there's something strange in the fact that whenever Poirot or Marple go, there's always a murder? There should even be a rule about it:

If you are on the same boat, in the same hotel, or attending the same social event with Poirot or Marple, forget about everything and RUN AWAY!!!

OK, sometimes (esp. in Poirot's cases) they appear on stage after the murder had already been commited. Still, even in such cases a second or even a third murder occurs after the detectives had arrived.

Suspicious, isn't it?

Hehe. Poirot and Marple would certainly have the brains to create "the perfect murder". ;)

Yeah it is strange that every where they go there's a murder :0). I think Poirot gets tired of every vacation he takes there is always a problem, not to mention that it must be irksome to come out of retirement so many times.

As for Miss Marple I know that she doesn't approve of crime, but she always seems ready for something bad to happen.

But a lot of detective novels are like that. I mean, almost every where Lord Peter Wimsey goes he has to solve a murder, it's almost the same w/ Sherlock Holmes.

Holmes stories are rarely of the "Holmes-on-vacation-when-a-murder-occurs" type. The Reigate Squires is the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Most of the time, it's a client coming to Holmes.

Dr. Gideon Fell, on the other hand.... ;)

I really didn't mean to say that Sherlock Holmes goes on vacation a lot that's followed shortly by a murder. It's kind of hard picturing him laying back on a deck chair at the beach :0). I just meant that it seems that there is rarely a week (or what have you) goes by when a mystery doesn't come a there way.

True, but like Poirot, it's his business. He's a private detective. Miss Marple is definately the more suspicious one of the two ;).
