What does your username mean??

christie_greece-avatar
christie_greece 09 Sep 10 at 11:29 a.m. GMT

I've seen really clever username on this site, and I've also seen some that I can't explain. Why did you chose this username???

Well I chose christie_greece because I wanted something rellevant to AC. My real name is Christine, and my friends usually call me Christie. But the username christie was unavailable. I really liked it thought, so I decided to change it into christie_greece so that anyone can see I'm greek and forgive me about my mistakes in English. :D

This is my story. I look forward hearing your stories!!!!

There is no real intresting story behind my username! Brigid is my first name and McMorrow my last, so I kind of combined them.

Mine is Snowy Mountains Mick (all one word in my user name). Pretty simple, I was working as the Manager of Security at a prison far, / afforestation camp in the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales, Australia, when I had to come up with a username for another online community. First thing that popped into my head, it has been one of my nicknames ever since.

nathatanu0 25 Jan 12 at 5:24 a.m. GMT

"nathatanu0"

nothing clever.. I don't wanted to waste time on choosing that clever username !!!

so, "nathatanu0"="nath"+"atanu"+"0"

"nath" is my second name which means "SAVIOR"...

"atanu" is the name of the God of Love in Hindu Mythology, the meaning of the word is as follows:

"atanu"="a"+"tanu"

"tanu" means "body" or "appearance" or "form" adding an "a" is a negative effect... so "a-tanu" means, the one who has not own any body... that is who is form-less or have no physical appearence... God of Love was burned to ashes by God Shiva and after that as he lost his body he was named as "Atanu" but his actual name was "Kamadev"... "Kama" is the same that of "kama-sutra"... "Kama" means love or passion... and "sutra" is "formula"....

Lastly I will talk about the "0" at the end... "0" I always add at the end to remind myself that in this whole universe where even the age of earth is like a bubble to the ocean of the time scale of the Universe... so I am nothing but "zero"... so that is why "0"...........

A_N_Omynous-avatar
A_N_Omynous 23 Dec 11 at 12:09 a.m. GMT

I chose A_N_Omynous for a few reasons. First, similar to U_N_Owen (In And Then There Were None), my username would be anonymous. I realized that if I switched the 'n' and 'm' it would be pronounced 'ominous' which I thought sounded cool as an Agatha Christie username. So I ended up with A_N_Omynous.

My username is sort of the pronounciation of my given name (Nahuel). In Spanish we do not pronounce the "h" so my name would be like saying na-uel (stressing the second part). But I thought it would be cooler to add well, which sounds similar to uel in Spanish.

My username is simple.  I was born and lived in Belgium until I was 38 and then moved to Ireland.  So I'm Belgian in Ireland.

Fascinated by the story behind your username, Nightrayduck, I'd been wondering about it for some time. I chose Nofret because I love Egypt, not only as a great place to holiday, but a fascinating ancient civilisation to study. Really enjoyed Death Comes as the End, what a lot of research went into the creation of Imhotep's household. Unfortunately I found the heroine, Renisenb, completely wet and uninteresting, so took on the persona of the dark, sultry temptress (I'm actually blonde!)

Belgian_Bulldog

I chose my name because I have been saying for many years that, if I ever got a French bulldog, I would name him Hercule, and whenever anyone said, "oh, what a cute little French bulldog," I would say, in my best Poirot voice, "he is NOT a little French bulldog!  He is a little BELGIAN bulldog!"

LOL! Nice idea :)

I really would if I were you! my (amateur) opinion is: you've got talent! But please let us know if you do so!

NightRayDuck

hm hm... I've always been fascinated by an imagery of a very dark, though cloudless, sky at night, but lit up by, for example, crackling lines of lightning. (I mean, sometimes the storm clouds distribute so evenly in the sky, one cannot see that they're a whole lot of clouds, and perceive instead a clear sky without stars.) And then, on a whim, I add to that imagery a domesticated duck paddling or waddling in or near a pond on the ground, looking up at the lightning, and probably not feeling impressed at all.

I think I can imagine this scene. It so well-discribed. I can even see it! Really interesting story behind this username

HarleyBarley-avatar
HarleyBarley 06 Oct 10 at 3:44 a.m. GMT

HarleyBarley is kind of a tangled username. I chose it because I am one of the people captivated by the mysterious Harley Quin. I wanted to use his name, but I fear that I might taint others' impressions of him by my misconduct, and thus decided to use the name of his doppelganger-scarecrow. Bonus points for HarleyBarley rhyming!

cameronjhw-avatar
cameronjhw 05 Oct 10 at 8:51 p.m. GMT

I know my username is a little weak because Cameron is my real name but I chose jhw because they are the initials of a famous literary character in British and crime fiction: John H. Watson.

your username xrysoula was one of the most obvious (for me, of course!). I'm glad to see that I'm not the only Greek in this site. I always thought that the Greeks don't read many books. But I've been proved wrong, and I'm really happy!!

xrysoula-avatar
xrysoula 21 Sep 10 at 10:42 a.m. GMT

Mine is very simple too. Xrysoula is my real name, as I 'm sure every Greek fan here must have realised! In order to be pronounced correctly, it should be spelled as "Chrisoula", though.Τhe correspondent name in English would be something like Goldy, I guess.

my username here is in order not to entangle with my other usernames, as I have been trying to get onto this site for over a year now and was the first site I tried after getting a new computer.  k starts my first name and Agee is my middle name.

Forgive any errors in transmission and feel free to help my internet technology!  I'm getting a "Done, with errors," every time I try to post a reply.

I have had previous usernames but I am really happy with my Current one as it is made up of 3 Characters I love, Tommy Beresford Bobby Jones and the A stands for Alan as in Alan Cade, so my Username is made up of 3 Characters I not only like but would love to be like, Adventurous, Whimsical and I think all 3 arre Rakish but if I am wrong with that when it comes to Alan Cade I can live with that as he is in my head.
