Murder on the Orient Express is a great book! The movie however, was some what odd. Still, it's a wonderful story!

@LuvAgathaChristie26 you're absolutly right!! I hate the films with peter ustinov because he's really not like someone who could call himself Hercule Poirot! Neither the optic nor his manner is correct!! Finney is better than Ustinov but still worse than Suchet.

David Suchet will always be the best poirot. Albert Finney looks like someone squeezed David Suchet's head and Peter Ustinov just doesn't look like he could be poirot. I loved the movie and the book is my absolute favorite.

The only thing I dont like in the game is that you are not playing with Poirot. That is the only mistake.Otherwise the game is ok and pretty damn hard.

The computer game for Murder on the Orient Express was really hard.  I had to use a walkthrough.  But I think it really captured the essence of the book, along with adding some interesting touches of its' own.

It is possible that the book has become so famous because Agatha gives two answers to the mystery of the murder: and it is a rare book in that she justifies the murder through the mouthpiece of HP who "solves" the crime in his true manner but really nobody is brought to book for the murder. The film is clumsy inasmuch as the "reality" of film requires a conclusion that the written word does not necessarily need to do

I've never read the book but I watched the film. It was a really good mystery, however, Albert Finney doesn't work for me as Poirot. His "german accent" and moves were awful. I really think his accent was german and not belgian. He is a brilliant actor but Hercule Poirot is a really difficult character to play. Anyway,a good film, I also love films set on trains, they inspire me.

I agree with you, belgian_in_ireland. Albert Finney might be a very good actor, but not as Poirot. :)

The book certainly is one of my favourites. I think it is brilliantly structured. But I don't like Albert Finney as Poirot. He may be a brilliant actor, but he just didn't do anything for me as Poirot. The rest of the cast is superb. Keeping my fingers crossed we will see a David Suchet version of this.

I think its a great movie, for some reason i really like movies set on trians - also like  The Lady Vanishes .

I don't quite understand why this book has become so famous, it was fine, but certainly not something great and ever-memorable.
