Mystery Figure - latest gossip

The Mystery Figure lurking at the top of the agathachristie.com homepage has finally made their move and murdered a member of the community. Police are powerless to stop the killer from striking again, until somebody can identify them.

Stay tuned to agathachristie.com over the coming weeks and see if your little grey cells can make sense of proceedings. In the meantime discuss who you think it is with other members of the community below - though get too close to the truth and you might wind up MURDERED!

I've found it, but it doesn't necessarily make sense?? People who haven't figured this out don't read, but why the Cow skull? Is one of AC's stories associated with a cow skull??

this was the easiest clue for me so far. i just started hunting today; i stumbled on the 6th accidentally. then i thought the fourth clue seemed simple, but had to poke around a little more than anticipated and almost missed it. Found the second clue also...

zahraimam, a Mystery Killer is "murdering" members of the Agatha Christie message boards.  The clues lie in the names of the victims.  Each cluster of victims (we're on the sixth right now) leads to a location on or connected to this website that will lead to a clue to the killer's identity, but in order to deduce the killer, you must have an extensive knowledge of Christie's books.  Go here to start the game: http://www.agathachristie.com/mystery-figure/It-Begins/

Oh, thank god for that! I now have the four clues to the identity of the killer(s) so far and once again I'd like to thank all those who have helped out. I won't mention any names in case there's anyone monitoring and the unthinkable occurs.

These have been driving me to distraction. But hey ho. On with the next one when it turns up as I'm completely hooked now.

The email address is provided when you find each clue - it is in the red box with the man's head in it so if you didn't want to worry your Dad *ahem* you could always go into the answers to Clues 1, 2 or 3, whichever one is easiest to locate.

Congrats, Caribou, on finding the 4th Clue.  I thought it was difficult too.

One thing about this quiz, it  has been absolutely wonderful for the official Agatha Christie website.  I did not know that there were so many interesting articles here about Mrs. Christie and her work - it's a very good site.

Hey there, everyone :)It has been a long time since my last time here...I gave up on the Murder Mystery some time ago, but I started reading Lord Edgware Dies last week, and I just knew I had to get back here and find the clues. I found every one of them, and now... I just can't take off of my mind the idea that The Killer in Lord Edgware Dies is the Mystery Figure here...I might be wrong, but anyway...EDIT: No, it can't be it. The Killer didn't use the knife. He/she/it used a scalpel...

It's still MUCH too early to guess who the Mystery Killer is...  there are at least six killers (maybe more) in Christie books who fit all four clues so far... I think we need to wait for more evidence before we come to any conclusions.

If you want to play this game, you really need to read every book Christie ever wrote!  Miss the novel (or story, or play) in question, and you can't win!

maryofscots - Putting my neck on the line again, maybe the 'book' that needs to be looked into is not a story.  Look over the word clues again, I assure you - once it clicks, you'll have no trouble finding the Fourth Clue.

Ummm...  I don't think I needed to be discouraged for what I said.  I certainly didn't try to make anyone feel shameful - I just wanted people to know that it was simpler than they thought.  I offered a very helpful hint, which could risk my being ousted from the game.  So I'd rather not be told that I'm being a downer.  If you look at the forums on previous clues, people were a lot more cocky and they certainly weren't reprimanded for that.  Chill out.

Now then, not to be rude, but that was just easy...  Is there really a need for a third clue?  To those that are stumped, look back at the posts that break down the victims' names into words.  It should practically jump out at you!

i feel we should show some support for those still looking... all clues seem "easy" once they've been put behind, but one must not undermine the energy (and time ) spent looking for them..

I thought The big Four so i typed that and went to it and below explore it said murder methods so i clicked on blow to the head because that would give you a scar.

Now then, not to be rude, but that was just easy...  Is there really a need for a third clue?  To those that are stumped, look back at the posts that break down the victims' names into words.  It should practically jump out at you!

i feel we should show some support for those still looking... all clues seem "easy" once they've been put behind, but one must not undermine the energy (and time ) spent looking for them..

I've found the 4th clue!!!!!  I say!!! what a joy!!!

I can't say it was unexpected as I've been hunting for it for the past few days practically non-stop... but I've put my brain to work and - thanks to hubbie ho had a hint but could not physically prove it... lol... I've found it!

What we know so far does help finding it! A lot. Think hard :) Good luck!

They aren't games at agathachristie.com per se...but they are games. Bookworm in an anagram game by popcap and Scarface is a game similar to grand theft auto. I found it while I googled Scarface and Agatha Christie.

Is it? I didn't know that... Normally hints will only be given after the 3rd murder... Poor victims... We are anticipating their deaths just to look for the clues...

Scarface and bookworm seems to be descriptive in nature, especially to describe a person... A character perhaps? Anyone in mind? Not really sure the 7 plays a part though...

So we have scarface and now bookworm7...very intriguing and mysterious!

I can't make any obvious connection between the two yet, but possibly bookworm7 suggests we should be looking at a book/ 7th book?

I have been focusing on 'Murder on the Orient Express.'  As others have said, Rachett had a scar, and there are italian characters, however so far I have found nothing there.  I think another victim would help a great deal.

Then there is the play Witness for the Prosecution, not forgetting Poirot's "brother" Achille in The Big Four ;)

the first clue was related to her stories... - 1st letters

the 2nd one to her birth date (biographic) - numbers

the 3rd one to a blog on this website - all the letters in the clue

4th one... hmm... could it be related to some of her main characters?

It was also a 1932 movie, which was remade by Pacino & Co. It's infamous for having Howard Hughes as producer, and somehow making it past the censors in the first place.

I have seen Scarface - it was quite violent and they knee capped somebody, I think.   I don't think Agatha Christie would have liked it at all. 

I had forgotten about Angela having a disfigured face in Five Little Pigs and In a Glass Darkly the man with the scarred neck.  There must be more, but I can't think of any yet.   What about The Seven Dials Mystery - they wore funny masks, although I don't suppose that is being scarred.

Another murder - I hadn't expected one for another few days. Really enjoying logging onto the site every other day or so, and participating in this mystery. So 'scarface'...the only thing I can think of is the Al Pacino gangster film of the same name. Don't recall any character being referred to as 'scarface' in any Agatha Christie - anybody know if there was? Guess I'll just have to wait and see what else occurs over the coming days, fingers crossed it's not going to be too difficult. Good luck, everybody!
