ABC Murders - Correct!?
Phoenix_WarriorI've found where the second clue is, but for some reason it won't work. Why is it that I'm so close to the second clue, but I can't get it? ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
go where your mouse tells you!
Yeeey, found the second one too...tnx all guys, couldn't have done without you...
I've found where the second clue is, but for some reason it won't work. Why is it that I'm so close to the second clue, but I can't get it? ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
okay so we all foun WHERE the second clue is but the link doesn't work so....!!!!??
It went form alphabetical and now it's numbers?? You have no idea how confused I am?
This is a very confusing mystery.
christie_greecethe one thought comes right after the other. I'm sure that I'll find it. i'm so close. But how can I be sure??
go where your mouse tells you!
To all the powers that be, I give thanks!
I finally found it and it really does pay to read the forums as the help there is invaluable, but without giving too much away. Thanks to one and all.
Hi Everyone,
I haven't been here for a while, and I can see there are many more murders and 2 more clues awaiting... And while I haven't been around, I'm still looking for the 2nd clue. Never mind...
the one thought comes right after the other. I'm sure that I'll find it. i'm so close. But how can I be sure??
1890 was the year of AC birth. If my thoughts above are right and 1890 means sth, then it could be related to AC. That also explains the name agatha. But the others???
I wonder if there is a connection between the names. I mean that agatha and rosie were existing persons. What about beatriz??? That doesn't make sense.
And what about the numbers????911 is the number for help. 888 may mean 24 or 3 or I don't know what else.91 could be 10. All together may be 1890, which could be a year. Or it could mean 45, perhaps a number used in a username. If we think that 1890-45=1845, what would 1845 possibly mean???Or it could be 1890+45=1935. But what is this???
These are just simple thoughts. They may mean something but..
I don't know.
lol got it now - read some of the other entries and worked out how to do it, thanks guys!
found the 2nd clue, or perhaps I should say I've found WHERE the 2nd clue is, but when I click on it, nothing happens! I hover over the . click on it and........ nothing! AARRGGHHHH!!
Found it - on to the third!
guys if the name is s.s Blogg -- its clearly somewhere in one of the blogs !!
I found it! Oh yeah this is going well
Okay, I got to give you most of the credit: I wouldn't be so far without you. Thanks you all wonderful fellow sleuths trying to give hints more or less obvious!
I HAVE FOUND IT ASWELL!! The link didn't work but thank you very very very very much for suggesting to search it manually and thank you everyone who gave us hints especially InspectorGrant. Thank you very much
!!!!!
InspectorGrantTry putting your mouse next to the word 'England' in Mrs. Christie's birthdate of 1890 in the timeline...
THANK YOU SO MUCH..... I FOUND IT FINALLYYY AFTER SO MANY DAYS OF SEARCHING IT..... BY YOUR HELP.... I WAS NOT GOING TO FIND IT WITHOUT THE HINT THAT YOU GAVE MEE..... SOOO HAPPY... THANK YOU AGAIN
it was quite tricky but after all the ending was good;);)
Finally I have found it. I didn't think I will ever find it. But some of the theories I developed over the past week really helped me
It was a tough one to find
very happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Try putting your mouse next to the word 'England' in Mrs. Christie's birthdate of 1890 in the timeline...
Do you notice anything about what is written when you click on it? *Remember the full stop* clue.
There is nothing different about the birth icon, except that it's red like all the other life events icons.
founded!
thx everyone!!
ThraciasI have doubled checked the "birth" on the timeline and it's not there. I have slowly moved my mouse on it, I've clicked on it, only information comes up and the exact date she was born on. And that's it?
Do you notice anything different from any of the other entries in the timeline...just curious ;)
I have doubled checked the "birth" on the timeline and it's not there. I have slowly moved my mouse on it, I've clicked on it, only information comes up and the exact date she was born on. And that's it?
I am curious, does anyone know the original location of the second clue, and if so, would you be willing to share it? I am just curious.
Thanks.
Onapi11my one didnt work either, but at the bottom of my internet browser there is a space where if you put your mouse over a link it tells you its exact web adress. i then typed that into the adress bar. hope that this will help
Correct :)
Scratch that last, I finally got it! I had to comandeer my grandmother's computer for a minute, but I got it. It seems my little laptop is eager to be as awkward as it can! :)
Good luck to all who do not have the clue yet
I don't have the little thing that tells you the name of the link, so I still can't open it :(
Have another look and move your mouse over it very slowly and carefully.
I still cant find it. In the timeline, I've checked her "birth" which is at the beginning and i do not see a link?
Marcia, remember Agatha Christie's YEAR OF BIRTH..
When you are browsing through the site, perhaps in THE TIMELINE, for example, looking for that elusive link, try hovering your mouse over something - as an hypothesis, we'll say something in THE TIMELINE which relates to Mrs. Christie and is of a personal nature (many women lie about this particular thing) ..... then look down into the bottom left hand side of your browser for the name of the link (remember, this is hypothetical, a mere guide only) - and you might see the name of the link there. Make a written note of it, absolutely verbatim. Then type it into the top of your browser and do a manual search for it.
And then see what happens ......... hypothetically, of course!
Good luck!!!
i would also wish you could tell me because this timeline is not opening the parts i want to check about the clue....
!!!! please fix it soon...
I wish I could point you in the right direction! once youve found the clue then you can stop looking for it!
MissQuin
Marcia96i am still looking in the all event in the timeline and found nothing.... my hand hurts from scrolling the mouse over the links...:P:P
I think you were really warm there!
am i???? im gonna search for it again then :P as usual;p;p
mwahaha!
I found it! Finally...............I had a theory.....and the second clue really helps me prove it true. :)
Marcia96i am still looking in the all event in the timeline and found nothing.... my hand hurts from scrolling the mouse over the links...:P:P
I think you were really warm there!
hmm it strikes me the phrase that says 'had only time to dial for help' as you had said as i remember .... something with a phone number 911 is the police station number i guess so.... im sure their numbers has something to do also with the 2nd clue including their names of course.... but again thanks miss Quin for the help that your trying to give me;);) i will continue searching..... hope to find it this time;);)
Have a look at the murder victims names, conclude what you think they add up to. Then read the statement below carefully, does anything strike you as standing out?
"Oh the irony, had agatha_911 only had time to dial for help before the Mystery Figure pounced!
So that's agatha_911, Rosie888 and beatriz91 - have you a clue what this pattern could mean? It's time to find that second clue! Only then will the identity of the Mystery Figure become that little bit clearer and the terrorised community can finally put a full stop to this rampage"
then go back and have a look...
i am still looking in the all event in the timeline and found nothing.... my hand hurts from scrolling the mouse over the links...:P:P
Always willing to help a fellow sleuth. Make sure to look all over the page you think it is. I say no more
!
ohh so this error with the timeline does not prevent me in finding the clue....
thank you Miss Quin for the info... yes it is hard and i still cant find it but the good thing is that i know where it is now so i will keep searching for it in the timeline;);) btw there is a 3rd clue also i guess, because another person is dead. i better find the second clue so that i can search for the 3rd clue....;);)
It's ok, I know the time line isn't working properly. But the clue is still to be found on... the site :) keep trying Marcia, I know it's hard.
but the problem with the timeline is that at the part of 1925 it is not opening at all the links... its a white page on that part of the timeline,... and then when i move my mouse over the other dates it is opening but that particular date its not... and there are quite a lot of links on that page and its not working...
dont know why...
oh okay;) i just saw it i will try it now and see if it works... thank you:):)
ATTN MODS
Apparently we've gotten some trouble with the link on the second clue. Can it please be fixed or something?
To Marcia, Jane-Doe, and anyone else who might have this problem: Onapi practically told you what to do.
some links on the timeline its not opening.....
it says error... what am i suppose to do now??>...
my one didnt work either, but at the bottom of my internet browser there is a space where if you put your mouse over a link it tells you its exact web adress. i then typed that into the adress bar. hope that this will help
Jane_Doe95I still can't get the link to work!
Hmmm, if you can't get a link to work, what is another way to get it to work?
Please help?
I still can't get the link to work!
My. Goodness. Gracious. Archons of Athens! What a turnip I've been! I now see everything. The clue was evilly hard to spot, but its general location was the obvious one.
InspectorGrant
HarleyBarleyAh, but I fear I've given rather too many hints!
A sharp eye, a sharp mind, and a white pointing hand. That's all one needs.
And if the white pointing hand doesn't open the link, there is always the option of looking at the name of the link in the bottom left hand side of your browser, and typing the link into the search bar manually. That's what I have been doing because the link has never worked for me
.........
Lol, there you have it, InspectorGrant has pretty much said exactly what to do. I hope though a moderator does come on here and tell us if we are giving too much away??? Just to add a bit more help, remember to look for something that maybe different then something else...

i stil cant find it???
I hope you don't think we are being unhelpful atu_gelovanii. It's only because we were told on here not too give too much away. We are all fearful of being the next victim!
Ah, but I fear I've given rather too many hints!

Marcia96can you help me? i cant understand what i must find ? its a box or a word or what i must find ? what kind of clue it is? please tell me
soo its in the timelinee
.... hmm but i have checked before the timeline and its not there and some parts of it its not opening to me... dont know why.... i will check again as usual...;)
so it must be on the timeline 1890 when agatha's born? but i've tried all possible ways: lightly scrolled on it, harley barley you said some thing about links so i thought there must be a fake link which leads to the clue! so i lightly scrolled on it and then tried clicking where it says birth but that's not it!
i'm getting flustered.
lidija_kovhelp me please a little come on :(
I THINK 10 MURDERS WE SHALL HAVE.not more its my opinion:))
Thank you lidija_kov, i dont know what to do :)):)) then. if i am makink its complicated i dont know what to think :)):)) can you help me or tell me anything useful? just please
atu_gelovanii, don't make it so complicated. good luck!
agatha completed her first story in 1917 ! look 1+9+1+7 = 18= 1+8=9 i am sure that this number is very important . oh and anotehr if this number is playing some role i want to say another my idea . agatha's first novel when was completed , no one wished to publish it. it was turned down by 6 publishers . maybe this 6 playing some role too because if we will overturn this number 6 it becomes the number 9 ! ! ! I want someone to help me if i am right.
InspectorGrant 911 + 888 + 91 = 1890 i have an idea . 1890 1+8+9+0=18=1+8=9 i think the number 9 is playing very big role int his mysterious case .
agatha's first novel was published in 1917 . and later her story was published by The Bodley Head. maybe the bodley head is playing some role here?
Marcia96in the timeline or in (about christie) .... i still cant find it though...
Marcia, you are hot!!!!! Don't even think about leaving that first place
.......
The eyes, what wonderful things they are! They can notice the slightest blemish and yet ignore the things our mind chooses to gloss over. But here's a clue: how does one know which one is a link and which one is not?
in the timeline or in (about christie) .... i still cant find it though...
ThraciasAC's Birthday? I can't think of any connection.
I fell like crying - literally, because everyone has found it and I haven't.
Lol, I know it is easy to sit here and give advice once you have found it already. Okay, you got AC's birthday, so where on the webiste could you read about it?
few got in
oh my goodness i found it!!!!!!!!!!
BUT THE LINK WONT OPEN =(
AC's Birthday? I can't think of any connection.

I fell like crying - literally, because everyone has found it and I haven't.
@Tharcias, InspectorGrant has repeated the vital clue, methinks. Remember the death announcement and the final number. Hope you find it soon.
Agathasmykid
ThraciasI dont know, something about Beatriz 91. 9+1=10. Random but I dont know? Oh yh, and beatrice is mentioned in and then there were none.
I am starting to wonder if we are giving too many hints, however I guess we will see who gets "murdered" next. Remember, look for a link between ALL THREE clues and the death announcement.....and trust your instincts, and look very closely.
Trust my instincts? And then there were none. I dont know. My intstincts tell me that but I am seriously doubting its there.
I've found it but when I try to click it, the box disappears
I still dont get it!
1890 was when AC was born, but obviously she couldnt have written a book then, so that should mean there's a special anniversary book she wrote? a book on her birthday?
hmm thank you for the help Inspectorgrant.... i will try and search for the clue now, based on the help that you just gave...
Marcia96wait a minute.... i have a theory 9+1 = 10 then 8+8+8 = 24 then 9+1+1 = 11 what could these numbers mean...??? hmm .... if you add 24 + 11 + 10 = 45 in 1945 the story and then they were non was published..... but its not there the clue i have checked it....
This has already been posted once, and I found it extremely helpful:
Agatha_911
Rosie888
beatriz91
Add all the numbers together: ie 911 +
888 +
91
= 1890
1890 is Agatha Christie's year of birth.
I daren't say any more ........
wait a minute.... i have a theory 9+1 = 10 then 8+8+8 = 24 then 9+1+1 = 11 what could these numbers mean...??? hmm .... if you add 24 + 11 + 10 = 45 in 1945 the story and then they were non was published..... but its not there the clue i have checked it....
does it really have something to do with the full stop thing?
i know your trying to help us and i thank you for this... but i dont know where this clue could be.... as thracias said 9+1= 10 and that beatrice is mentioned in and then they were non but i have searched there and theres nothing... i will take your advise and search for once more to see if i can find it this time....
ThraciasI dont know, something about Beatriz 91. 9+1=10. Random but I dont know? Oh yh, and beatrice is mentioned in and then there were none.

exactly...... i have searched everywhere and its getting annoying not finding it....
i'm getting really flustered also Marcia96. i haven't been able to find the clue anywhere. HarleyBarley says scroll over things lightly eh? I know what it MEANS but i just don't have a clue what to scroll over!
i still cant find it
.... im gonna give up its so annoying not finding it... i have searched everywhere and still nothing... i have read the posts and searched based on the posts but nothing.... i guess im not searching carefully.....
I found the 2nd clue much harder too than the 1st one, but posts have been extremely helpful. Don't give up guys!
This game is simply amazing! Hope to share much of my Christie 21-year-long experience with you all! Have fun!
MissQuinI found the clue! It wasn't the same as before. which is why I didn't notice it!
tap, tap, tap tap-that's the sound of me doing my Irish jig, whaaaaayy!!!
Thanks everyone, the details posted helped. Of course, I found it in a place I'd already mentioned, but didn't notice!
But how hard with clue 3 be eh?!
Congrats, Miss Quin - it's almost unbelievable when you find it, isn't it.
I think Clue 3 will be extremely difficult
!!

you found it finally
i still can't find it
.... i think it has something to do with dial phones/books as you had said... but i cant imagine which of her books might be.... i will keep searching....
sad cypress, five little pigs, third girl, three act tragedy, curtain, a daughter's a daughter, and then there were none, murder of the vicarge, the mirror cracked from side to side, death comes at the end, three blind mice, The Man who was Number 16. These are the books that were mentioned to possibly have a connection with thesecond clue in the last 12 pages. I just put them into a list and copied and pasted so the grammar's wrong. I just hope that it is one of these books.
ilovewalruses2No way! haha, I thought I must be the only teen who is an avid AC fan.
@Thracias: I doubt I'm in your school, I'm living in China :)
For those of you who haven't found the clue yet, read the last couple of pages on this post. I tried the same location about eight times before I actually saw the clue.
Good Luck!
Christine
Hmmm..... You had to check it eight times? Maybe I have to go on a specific book eight times till it appears???
Yes, full stop does mean " . ". You might know it as a period. Anyway, it's the punctuation mark you place at the end of declaratory sentences.
sorry, third comment in a row. is full stop mean to be like (.)?
i love agatha christie and i'm not even a teen yet!
where is this 'note' that moderator2 has put up. i'm not fully informed

hey wow im 14 too =)
but what dose the full stop mean, like as a book it could mean death comes at the end? or even curtain?
Hi everybody,
New to this game, just entered two hours ago, and I found the first and second clue! Breath-taking! What are we gonna do now???
A daughter's a daughter? Rosalind was Agatha Christie's daughter so that would fit in. But then I dont know what Beatriz 91 would mean in it or is it just because I haven't read that book?
I dont know, something about Beatriz 91. 9+1=10. Random but I dont know? Oh yh, and beatrice is mentioned in and then there were none.
ThraciasI feel very stupid now
I cant find it. I still cant find it. My strongest suspicions were "and then there were none" but i'm now pretty positive that that is not where the clue is. And once again, I'm stumped.
How did you draw the conclusion of "An then there were none?"
I feel very stupid now

I found it! I´m so happy! It´s trick. You have to pay a lot of attention!
The three victims names are in italics and so is Full Stop. Full stop???
Hey, I was wondering if any of you are from my school, because I had to do a talk and I did it on Agatha Christie. You're mostly likely not but I was just wondering, don't have to answer this if you dont want to.
Is it wrong to be hoping for an ninth murder?
Its a slightly macabre feeling.
AgathasmykidWow, I am very impressed to see young people here, I hope that all future generations get the opportunity to read some of Agatha's work.
Now, for those who still haven't found it. Here is what worked for me;
-reread the death announcement carefully
-trust your instincts (and other peoples ideas) and look very carefully in the place you think it might be. Don't disregard anything. My problem was that I noticed something however kept dismissing it because I thought "No way the clue would be there." Sure enough it was.
Best of luck all.
And do take notice especially of the words in the death announcement written IN ITALICS .....
Also, the answer is on this forum and has been for some time. It is not really as complicated as you think - once you pick up the clue discussed in the forum, head to the obvious place to test it out, just as Agathasmykid has suggested.
I too am impressed at the number of young people here. Good luck!

Wow! I never expected so many people to be around the age of my own. I still can't find it though.
im fourteen
anyway i still cant find this cluee... i will come to search for it later ... i have to go and study now.... hope you find the clue soon guys (for those who havent found it yet)...
ilovewalruses2
ThraciasWoah! I thought I was the only 13yr old on here? Anyway, I'm gonna have a look at and then there were none and look thoroghly on it.
I'm thirteen too ^.^
Yeah!! me too :) Whoa!!
ThraciasWoah! I thought I was the only 13yr old on here? Anyway, I'm gonna have a look at and then there were none and look thoroghly on it.
I'm thirteen too ^.^
I dont think that the numbers that add up to 1890 is a coincedence. But a book couldnt have been written by her then obviously. I'm stumped.
Woah! I thought I was the only 13yr old on here? Anyway, I'm gonna have a look at and then there were none and look thoroghly on it.
neither i can find it
... im busy with the exams(for school) and i dont have time to search for it properly... but i will try again i hope one day im gonna find it....
I still cant find it, too hard.
I'm gonna give up and rely on the comments.
this is quite frustrating
i know it will probly seem obvious when i find it, ill probably hit myself because i missed it
Good luck to people who still haven't found it. Everything you need to find it has pretty much been layed out in the last several posts.
atu_gelovaniii found too but i dont know how i must open it or what thne would happne i found red box and what then where it dissaperaed can anyone help me? :O
Just repeat what you did earlier, atu gelovanii - nothing will happen except that you will be taken to the red box which contains the information about Clue Number 2. You don't have to open it - it should already be opened with the announcement there for you.
i found too but i dont know how i must open it or what thne would happne i found red box and what then where it dissaperaed can anyone help me? :O
I have not found it, but then again, I'm not trying particularly hard...
It seems like we already have enough theories, but there's a missing link to the clue right now. But I suppose I shoould stop spouting puns now.
I found it!! Oh I'm so happy, I didn't think I would ever get it. You really have to go through it with a fine tooth comb. I had already looked at it a number of times before I saw it. Don't give up on theories if others say they didn't find the clue there, its not very obvious.
Good Luck!!
Okay I think it has something to do with timeline and Sparkling Cyanide. Am I getting close?
I would suggest re-reading the theories othes have come up with. Thats what I did, I think I was reading through the posts so far and then I had a check round the site again. Thats how my brain did it anyway, other peoples brains may not be chocolate powered and work the same way.
i still cant find it
....
hmm so i have to scroll over things lightly to find the clue.. so i dont have to click to things to find it. but what things i have to scroll to find it ;P .... well, well time to search
oh and thanks for the little help harleybarley:)
Ha ha, I see your clue, HarleyBarley!! Hope that you find the second clue soon, everybody....
If I have to put one more tiny clue, here it is: read between the lines on my last message. Not literally, but there's a minute reference to what you have to do.
I hope I shan't be murdered for this, but if I do get killed for hinting, at least I'll "meet" Shinichi...
I'm still Lost!
is it in the sudoku?
Does it have anything to do with rosalind?
When I looked it up in the timeline I couldn't find anything..
(but maybe it's just that this laptop is so damn slow....)
To those who have not found it yet: do not worry, and do not over-search. Just scroll over things lightly, and you'll find the clue.
Best of luck to those who have not find it yet. My guess is that you will find it soon.
Is 911 connected to any of AC's books?
i hope that you are going to find it soon
as i hope also to find it...
I have to go soon, so I'm having to work fast! I want to find this!!
mine too.... still cant find itt:(:(
My head hurts! I just keep looknig at the same pages, not seeing it. I wish I knew where it wasn't hidden! Then I wouldn't have to keep looking.
i hate to think how hard the 3rd clue will be!
hmm yes your right... but where could this 2nd clue be hidden
... i have looked every page but still nothing... i guess i have to try again.. but i think that we have to pay attention to the numbers near the names ....
Mmm, I don't know that Rosalind was known as Rosie, so we will have took at it differently.
mine is working but its not opening some parts of it... but neither i think its there....
I hope it isn't in the timeline, as it's not working on my computer! I don't think it is though.
yes i agree with you i checked also the pages with the names and still nothing.... in 1919 if im not wrong agatha christie's daughter was born. im sure the clue is connected with agatha christie and Rosalind...
It's OK Marcia, I confess, I havent found it either! I feel really stupid! I think I'm trying too hard, if I wasn't looknig for it, I find it in 5 minutes!
I'm re checking everything over and over again., but because it seems Ive over looked it.
My theories are it might be 1890 a page connected with AC's birth.
Or dial/phones stories with phones.
i still cant find it
... i guess im the only one here who hasnt found it yet... i have looked everywhere and still nothing.. i have some theories but they dont make sense and also i have looked carefully at the name and the numbers but i cant see anything on them... i guess i have to try again....
Ou yeah, found it. Read very carefully and look very carefully, and you will find it! good luck everyone, you are thinking the right way!
It seems like we are on a roll now. And one wonders whether or not it is a good thing, or a sign that someone shall soon be the seventh victim...
Goodness gracious!!! I was taken away by surprise myself when I found the clue! And after so many days! Thank you all for the encouragements!
It is tricky... Deduce and observe, deduce and observe! Cheering you on!
Finally, success!!!!!! Yes, the clues make sense, however you do have to look very very closely! And as others have said, re-read the death announcement and try again, trust your instincts but look very carefully.
Have a nice weekend everyone.
Hi, I am away on a small trip, however thought I would check in. I have limited computer access here. Congrats to everyone who has found it, I still have not and hope to get back at it tommorow.
In the interests of self-preservation, I will not say whether or not I have found the clue. I will say this: anyone who is looking for the second clue ought to read this entire thread thoroughly. Many of our observations and theories may prove helpful, and the website must be scrutinized carefully, I am NOT providing any spoilers or violating any rules if I simply list all the clues that have officially been provided:
1) The names of the victims. (agatha_911, Rosie888 and beatriz91 )
2) The announcement of the second group of deaths. (http://www.agathachristie.com/mystery-figure/Not-another-one/)
These are all of the officially provided clues. When studied, they produce directions as to the location on the website where one should look for the second clue, and the trigger to gain access to the second clue.
i still cant find it...
can you just tell me (for those who found it) if it is hidden in an obvious place or you have to look deep in the site to find it... please just tell me this info
thank you
..
Still can't find it though....
How hidden is hidden? Do we need to scroll over everything? I read all the text provided in the suspected titles area but to no avail!
The year that AC was born in, 1890. What books have a possible connection to that year?
Which books have a possible connection to the clues, I think we're gonna have to look more closely on those books.
Thank you, Jenpix, StudentDylan, InspectorGrant. Your posts are all I need to push me towards the clue. Just one read, I head to one of my greatest suspicions so far, and there it is.
I have found it too!! I would agree with what Jenpix and StudentDylan have said to disregard what other people have said about visiting a place on the site and the clue not being there - you just have to look a bit more carefully - it is most definitely there.
I wish I could say more but am afraid of being murdered. Good luck everybody...
I would just say, by way of support and cheering from the sidelines (and definitely not trying to spoil things and get murdered myself in the process!) that the solution to these 3 murders is trickier than the solution to the first lot of murders and also as simple.
But I definitely agree with jenpix in that you also have to look more carefully than last time. And definitely do your own detective work - you might read in the forum that someone has searched in such and such a place for the second clue and 'didn't find it' or 'it wasn't there', but you really need to visit all potential crime scenes and get down in the flower-beds with your own magnifying glass to search for footprints/ cigar-ends/ticket stubs yourself!
So good luck, keep hunting
(i said magnifying glass not sunglasses...)
I wish I could give you guys a clue as to the location. It is logical and makes perfect sense. You do have to look way more carefully than last time. I really hope I have not said too much.
jenpixI found it! I found it! and all thanks to reading the suggestions on the last few days. Thanks for the inspiration
Congrats! I wish we all can say the same... Inspiration? Meaning one of the theories is right after all... But which one? Let's all drain our brains together!
I've looked through all the books but not in the shop...
I've looked through AC's biography section but not there as well...
I even looked through Mathew's blog (her grandson) but nothing there!
Unless I didn't look carefully enough...
Well, we know it exists... I know we can't get confirmation as to whether our deductions are correct or what we're looking for exactly, but I could use another clue.
I found it! OMG
Good luck everybody!
you found itt???!?!?!?!?! lucky i still cant find it:(
I found it! I found it! and all thanks to reading the suggestions on the last few days. Thanks for the inspiration
MissQuinUnless it's on one of the pages Ive looked and I didn't spot it...but I did so as throughly as I could, but you know how it is.
Ive double checked all the books section (not in the shop)
Ive checked the fourm posts pages eg I though about her autobiography starting 1890.
Ive checked AC notes and facts, where does that leave??
Miss Quin, I spent the morning doing the same. Either we are on the wrong track, or the clue is hidden very carefully.

This is good. Let us continue stating where we have not found the clues, and it will help us narrow down the search.
Ive tried the autobiography notes for 1890 as well!
MissQuinThe obvious place would be the year 1890 on the time line, but it doesn't seem to be there.
I agree. I havve been through the timeline several times and still nothing.
The obvious place would be the year 1890 on the time line, but it doesn't seem to be there.
I agree, this is a tough one. I did add up the numbers;
911
888
91
____
= 1890
This was the year Agatha Christie was born. However where to look, I have no idea.
I am glad that somebody has found the second clue - nice work, Student Dylan - because I think that I have been on every page of this website and I can't find it. I was ready to give up the whole thing.
I wondered whether the names were all names of flowers, or racehorses - or maids appearing in the books - anything!! But I don't think so, will just keep looking.
It doesn't seem to be in books, I didn't think it would be.

i looked that book also and still nothing.... i have looked everywhere and nothing... i dont know where this 2nd clue could be...:(:(
At this point I would suggest looking everywhere. Agatha wrote a short story if memory serves correct, "The Man who was Number 16," or something like that. Might be worth a try
Could the clue be located in the members' profile? Because that is the only place in the website I could think of that has a lot of pages! And you can shift the clue anywhere amidst the profiles!
This is getting impossible...
If you turn 91 upside down u get 16? And 888 remains the same, 911 becomes 116??? Sorry, my impossible theory.
Taking into acount of What The Butler Saw (lol) and what Student Dylan found, I will keep searching!
Ok so this is kinda random and off the bat but...the notice calls the sequence of user names a pattern...so, while the mathematical possibilities are tantalizing, I think they're only a red herring.
Also, as someone pointed out earlier, full stop is italicized. Full stop, is of course, the closing phrase of a telegram...possibly a key?
GKCfanWell, at least we now know that the clue can be found. Good work, student_dylan! I've been searching and trying to use logic and figure out the clues, but I've searched everywhere and found nothing...
I have therefore come to the following conclusions about the second clue.
1)The link that leads to the second clue is different from the link that leads to the first clue. I believe that the link must take an entirely different form from the first clue, and it may look nothing at all like the link to the first clue. Just what the link DOES look like, I can't say.
2)The link that leads to the second clue must be located in a place that can be logically deduced from the clues. The three "victims" for the second clue were not chosen randomly. There is no evidence of them having posted on this board at all. Their names are the clues. In the case of the first clue, there was a clear, obvious pattern that led to the location of the first clue. In the second case, the names of the three victims must all point in one direction, and I suspect that the combination of the names leads to the clue. However, since we know the clue has been moved from its original location, I submit that it is possible that the clues from the victims' names can lead to something referenced on multiple pages of the website, allowing the clue to be moved.
What do you all think of my conclusions?
Great post GKC Fan, I couldn't agree with you more on everything you wrote. In reference to your first point, I think it is not so much what we are looking for, but what we are looking at. I feel like taking a break from this, and then going back over everything except taking more time to look at things.

Javi & Jen, great ideas. I thought of Three Blind Mice since there were three victims.
student_dylanClue located! Definitely trickier to spot than last time
Yeah, finally someone! Congratulations student Dylan!
Clue located! Definitely trickier to spot than last time
I thought it might be in the Sudoku part of the site (letters and numbers) but nothing...
Well I have checked all the novels, I kept getting excited and thinking I had got it, like 3rd girl (3 female victims) and checked all the dates on the timeline. This is not going well so far. Not found it yet.
Ah well, the last one was suppposed to be easy adn that took me 3 days so I am thinking this one will take me at least a couple of weeks.
I really wish the timeline section was working on my computer, I think the answer may be somewhere there, however it stops after a certain point.
AgathasmykidTheButlerDidITVery amusing to watch you all trying to find this clue! To be honest I sort of found it by accident!
I know you are not supposed to give us a hint, but how about the other way? Can you tell us where not too look?
Smart!
Good one AMK! where not to look!
TheButlerDidITVery amusing to watch you all trying to find this clue! To be honest I sort of found it by accident!
I know you are not supposed to give us a hint, but how about the other way? Can you tell us where not too look?
How do the numbers add up to her birth year? I can't quite get that?
91
888
911
Could someone please explain it?
Thanks.
I think we shall have to kidnap you Butler! Well as you found it by accident, then it's not really so annoying.
Very amusing to watch you all trying to find this clue! To be honest I sort of found it by accident!
Then I thought "put a full stop to this rampage" what's a stop? The end is a stop = Death Comes As The End, but nothing!
GKCfan, I can't take credit for discovering the numbers add up to her birth year - it was another member (can't remember who, but well done!) - but it's the theory i most favour at the moment.
Maybe people are too scared to announce they've found the second clue, but I don't think there's any danger to them if they do. The problem with Heisel and Hercule was that they discovered the clue after the first murder, i'm sure they would still be alive if they'd waited until Agatha_911 before they announced they'd found it. If anybody does discover the clue I hope they let us know, so at least we know it's possible!
student_dylan, I think you've discovered the significance of the numbers! They add up to her birth year, 1890 (although this is now the 120th anniversary of her birth). I still don't know where to look for the second clue.
Unfortunately, I think that people are afraid to announce that they've found the second clue, since the first two people to find it early were "killed." I wonder if people don't start announcing that they've found it, if we'll get more clues. I still haven't gotten anywhere with finding the second clue...
All of these got me unbelievably and embarressingly excited and certain that i'd struck gold when i thought of them... so sad, just a junior detective here
I think it's most likely though that the fact the whole numbers add up to 1890 - AC's year of birth and that this year celebrates the 110th anniversary of her birth - is too much of a coincidence, it has to be! But where to go from there...? Any ideas?
This is so tricky, and i feel stumped and increasingly frustrated, grrr! Some of my theories:
1. Numbers added together 9+1+8+8+8+9+1+1= 45 and according to the AC bio section her novels have been translated into 45 languages
2. 888 (8x3) = 24 = four and twenty blackbirds = A Pocket full of Rye!
3. Agatha_911 - is that Agatha dialling 911 on hardcover of Roger Ackroyd? I think we're v clever MissQuin for thinking of this, lol!
4.91888911 - it has sort of a mirror image thing going on, but only kind of, so maybe 'The Mirror (is) crack'd' ?
No luck so far! The worst thing is, some smarty will come along and say "it's so obvious my dears!"
argh!
MissQuinI looked through all the books featuring phone calls, nothing. I looked under SOS (phone call to 911 is an SOS isn't it?)
Ive checked the time line, but it's not working properly on my computer, I thought the years 1890 or 1990 could be important, or the year Rosaline was born, but Ive found nothing.
So I looked through the books and in fact Ive been through nearly every page on the website. I'm really stuck.
Maybe this is a cruel hoax and there's no clue at all!
ATM I'm looking through the forum posts in case it's there, I'm doing the short story collection. Let me know if you find it. I'd love to know it's really there!
I found the timeline to not be working properly either. I hope the clue isn't hidden in it somewhere. I will definately keep you posted, please do the same :)
Maybe this is a cruel hoax and there's no clue at all!
I tried looking at the names without the number;
Agatha, Rosie, possible Rosalind. Does Bea mean Archie or Max in any other language? lol!
I thought something to do with family maybe the way to go, but almost every book she wrote involves families.....
MissQuinMy therories (for you to laugh at most probably!)
agatha_911, Rosie888 and beatriz91. I thought about 911 being the emergancy number, also the word "dial for help" so I thought about phones. But Ive checked books with important phone calls and The roger Ackroyd cover having the phone on the cover. I'm stumped.
Hi MissQuin, nothing to laugh at, thanks for sharing. Much appreciated. I like reading other peoples theories, keeps the game fun, and the brain working!

m_hercule_poirot_2Though I'm not playing anymore. I should tell you guys that while I was looking around the site I found the second clue. The position in which I found it before no longer has it. It's in a much tougher location. Good luck in finding it. :)
Lucky us, we get the harder search
I guess what I don't get then is how can the clue be placed somewhere else? The victims names were meant to show some sort of pattern, has that pattern changed now?

Interesting no one has found it yet....must be a tough one. As least with the last set of victims I understood the pattern pretty quick, however I didn't concentrate enough....maybe that is my problem again this time.....I am left scratching my head regardless.
Cat Among The Pigeons?
GKCfanAnyone else notice how in the latest death announcement (http://www.agathachristie.com/mystery-figure/Not-another-one/) the words "full stop" are italicized? Could "full stop" be a clue?
I saw that too. Maybe the last book Agatha wrote?
jenpixright, so the first set of murders gave us a hint to the location of the first clue.So the second set of murders should give a hint to the location of the second clue. The second set of victims are in two parts, a number and a name. . . bear with me. . thinking out loud at the moment.
So it could be that they point to something and it could be that they form a chain in which we have to find the missing link. hmm
It is difficult. Do you need to look at the numbers or are they there just to throw you off. Not sure what Bea means, but Agatha and Rosie could mean mother and daughter, or family etc.
On the other hand if the numbers matter what is the connection? I have racked my brain, as well as the Christie Timeline and still can't come up with anything. You could probably take several meanings from the numbers. I started with the following;
91
888
911 - if this is an increase to 91, could the next number in the pattern be;
8888? Then what does that mean, 32?
Lol as you can probably tell, I have no idea at this point. Could also be the date of something.
Anyone else notice how in the latest death announcement (http://www.agathachristie.com/mystery-figure/Not-another-one/) the words "full stop" are italicized? Could "full stop" be a clue?

TheButlerDidITHello and welcome to the site! To answer your question my advice is to look at the information given and see if it reminds you of anything at all and then check that page. I can't tell you exactly where to look but you shall work it out sooner or later. Have fun!
I meant this is advice for the first clue not second btw.
i think that it has to do with a date of story that was published.
other than that i am hopeless
I Still haven't found what I'm looking for.... the second clue
Ok, I'm not original LOL
still not found it and I have to go.
Hello all!! I am just starting this today!! I don't really get it!! Do we just browse around the site for clues? Is there anyhting in particular we should look for? Woohoo...I love this kind of thing!!
Wow, I went to sleep only to wake and find another victim. This is great fun. However it seems all of my theories have gone out the window as I can't seem to find a link between all three clues.
Happy Hunting everyone, best of luck.
But then where does the 8 come in?
9+1=10 and then there were none has 10 people in it and they mention a beatrice in there
Neither can I. It's getting rather interesting. There's Agatha and Rosie - which might stand for Rosalind - but who is Beatriz? And why all the 9s, 1s, and 8s? We need some help here - a catalyst, if I do say so myself...
I can't find it so far
Nine minus one equals eight. I don't know if that makes any significance here, though. Say, does anyone know of a Beatriz/ce in AC's works, or something regarding those numbers?
9/11?! *alarmed* Just noticed it.
911 is the emergency number in America what about 888?
Beatrice91
Rosie888
Agatha911
=
BRA? Any books beginning with that?
The three numbers add up to 1890 AC's birthday, where the any birthday books written or something similiar?
I have to go now, but I will certainly be back in the morning with a cup of coffee and a head full of order and method! Maybe not that last bit...
Mon Dieu! Another murder! A hunting I will go for the clue...
Yes i think it's posted.
"It's time to find that second clue!"~Moderator2
It seems unlikely that it's simply a coincidence. But what then? I checked the timeline as well- Nothing.
We are certain that the second clue has been posted? It must be, surely????!!!!!
Surely it's not just a coincidence that the numbers all add up to her birth date, 1890? But what do we do with that informatin? I've checked out the timeline and there's nothing special there for that date... Unless it is just a coincidence? Is this going to be really tricky to solve?
She was born in 1890. I think the clue wasn't posted the last couple of days.
i can't imagine where this 2nd clue issssss...........;(:( i have been looking for some days and still nothing:(:( maybe 1890 could mean one of her books that was published on that date?....
the numbers added give 1890 - Agatha was born in 1890...other than that i'm stuck :((...i really don't know what beatriz could mean or who she might be :(( any other theories?
I have a theory-
agatha_911
rosie888
beatriz91
Agatha and Rosie- was Beatrice an important person in AC's life?
Yes - another murder! Engaging little gray cells to find out the location of the second clue... Good luck everybody!
na_wellYour theories don't bother Agathasmykid. I think that the more theories the closer we can get to the clue. One of the theories has to be correct, right? hehe.
No, really, I have been reading your theories and some of them make a lot of sense but I think we are still missing some information that will come with the following death. Maybe tomorrow there could be another murder. I remember beatriz91's death was last Thursday so who knows? Maybe tomorrow will have another death and with it the final piece of the puzzle that will lead us to the second clue. I can't wait!!!!
Thanks na well. it is certainly fun to come up with ideas and I agree the more theories the better. Yes, one more death would help alot, especially if clues get posted after three victims. The numbers in each name keep throwing me off and I am not sure where to look next. I may just wait until May 24 or the next death before i start searching the website again.
Happy Hunting!

I don´t think so. This second clue it´s really hard to find. As you wrote, next clue only on May 24. Until there, I think we have to wait. Maybe, there will be one more murder...
tudes
AgathasmykidI wanted to share another theory that came to my mind today. The numbers in the victims names could be telling tell when, rather then where the next clue will be posted?
9+1= 10, or 2010
8+8+8= 24
The 'piggies' reference maybe from 5 Little Pigs. May is the 5th month.
Maybe the next clue will be posted on the website on May 24, 2010?
Great point! I looked everywhere and found nothing. I'm really tired.
Thanks. Really these are just theories on my part, hopefully people don't get too tired of them.
I really think that the second clue is not in the site yet...

AgathasmykidjavimooreYeah, I noted that too... I don't know if its a clue or just a 'cool' grave...
Dying here waiting for the second clue....
Did I just say dying? I meant... ahhh... waiting really patiently!
Javi
It looks exactly like the graves the victims are being shown on. I wonder if there is a link there somewhere.
The website's just using the cover of the UK paperback version of 'Murder at the Vicarage' because it's a neat idea to have the murder victim's names on a gravestone. I'm certain they're not intending it as a visual clue hinting at that particular novel

TheButlerDidITI think you two just created a new religion!
LOL!!!!
No, he's too mischievous to do that. He thinks it will be much more fun for me to find out myself.
I suppose your Harlequin, has told you who the murderer is?
No, I told my Harlequin about it. But to say he "spirited" them away will be a bit of a pun, will it not?
ahh, spoilers have gone!
You spirted them away then Harley?
Well, Miss Quin, at least by speaking of spoilers, we remove said spoilers from the Recent Posts page...

Okay, I thought I would post something just to wet people's appetites. Of course it may mean absolutely nothing but has anyone seen the cover the website is using for the Murder at the Vicarage?
ThraciasSeems like we're all waiting for someone to post an idea up rather than looking randomly around this website
I think we're all waiting for confirmation of the next clue.

I was hoping for another murder today. I can't think of any new theories, and am waiting to explore the ones I have already mentioned.

Anything new????
=( Should we start looking for the second clue now???
I don't think the two people killed, could say where the clue was.
If someone could tell us where the last clue was, I think I could find out why it was there. And we could eliminate that book because it obliously wont be there. And the numbers 91 and 888 could add up to something like a date? Whxih AC wrote in that year?
EDIT : And maybe someone telling us where the last clue was could help us with the clue we're currently trying to solve.
javimoorePerhaps... but I really think that we'll be surprised with another body and finally the second clue...
I agree wtih this, I think it is being held off until the third victim is announced. Too bad though, it would have been fun to have had a chance to find it by now.
Perhaps... but I really think that we'll be surprised with another body and finally the second clue...
This always happens while I'm sleeping! lol. Oh no, I have a number in my username! But I think they are creating the victims, so I don't think I'm in any more danger than all of you. *dies*
Has anyone checked to see if rosie888 posted anything?
I think the second clue may have originally been posted somewhere in relation to "Five Little Pigs", but it has been moved. Thats why the murderer had no qualms about leaving such an obvious note.
I just noticed that Moderator2 said that "Beatriz91 and rosie888" are the only clues we have to go on. Is this a confirmation of our theories that the murderer is murdering in "sets"?
There is a Beatrice mentioned in "And Then There Were None"... It was the name of the servent girl turned out by Emily Brent, when she found out about Beatrice's pregnancy... B jumps of a bridge in her dispair, and drown...
Hello everyone its been a while since I was on here last. Yesterday I got on and saw what was going on. I looked for the first clue a long time, but didn't find it until today. I got to thinking and realized I should have known where it was by the info given.
Do you know if we will get any information telling us if the 2nd clue is back up on here?
Are the numbers the key to the clue? Who knows. Also the "piggies" part may or may not be important. 5 Little Pigs is an obvious choice, as is any title with numbers in it.
Just to add to ideas about the numbers;
Maybe instead of 91888, one could also read it as 1024 which is the sum of each set of numbers, or 34, which is the sum of all of the numbers put together.
1024 - 10 could represent 2010, 24 could represent a date, and the next victim may represent a month? Anyways, just some addtional ideas I had....
AgathasmykidI think Agatha wrote 'Curtain' for Rosalind. However I haven't been able to find any clues there.....at least not yet.
Rosalind would be a good fit for the clues we already have all right. I checked 'A Daughter's a Daughter' by Mary Westmacott - and it's not there either. Seemed like a good guess though, might be worth checking again after the next murder if they are waiting until then to post the clue
The only theory i really have at the moment is pretty much the same as everybody else at the moment: the numbers in the victims' names seem to be the key to locating the clue.
What way are the numbers important? 9-1 is 8, and the Rosie888 contains 8(x3). My best guess at the moment is that we need to find a connection between AC and the number 8. Hopefully the next victim's name will in some way contain '8' - if it doesn't we'll know we're well off and will have to think of something else.
It could actually be that the numbers aren't actually important - but a bluff. But in that case I'm stuck as what to make of the only other information we have: 'Beatriz' and 'Rosie' - apart from the obvious: are there characters with those names in any novels/stories? I don't think so - and waaaaay to obvious, I'm embarrassed to EVEN HAVE MENTIONED IT lol!! It's probably correct and they're spinster sisters in one of the lesser known short stories.....
I think they put it up early unaware that it would be found so quickly, especially accidentally the way Heisel found it: all their hard work devising the murders and clues for nothing!
I imagine their thinking is that having the clue found so soon deflates the mystery and tension, and makes the next two murders redundant - and the wait for them to happen a bit boring. I imagine they want this experience to be as suspensful and intriguing as AC's novels And it's certainly becoming so, don't you think?!!
What is also a mystery is why would the website put up the second clue in the first place if it was too early?
I think Agatha wrote 'Curtain' for Rosalind. However I haven't been able to find any clues there.....at least not yet.
"when this will be is anyone’s guess"
The way I read this is that the second clue could be put up at any time, could be today or a month from now.
I don't think the 2nd clue is on here at the moment.
So, the clue might not have been posted on yet?
HarleyBarleyPerhaps the clue simply is not there yet. The note said that Mystery Figure has removed the clue, but might put it back again at another time. But it also implies that for now, the clue is not there yet, where-ever "there" is.
I absolutly agree with you...

Are we sure that the second clue was already reposted???
Does Moderator2 know where the clue is?
Hmm...?
88891
91888
19888
Anything come to your minds?
yes i think that its not in the section with the 'stories and detectives'.. but where could it be ??? i have checked it in the other pages as well but still nothing...:(
By hard, maybe he means that it's not in the section that I (maybe you guys aswell?) was looking in, the "stories and detectives" section?
Butler said it was hard to find and HH said he found it by mistake, MHP said I thnik he found it by accident too.
hmm well someone has to tell us at least if it was in an obvious place or nott....
Sad Cypress has roses as part of the plot, but there's nothing there. Sad Cypress had Rosemary, but nothing there now.
hmm i checked the book called the daughte's daughter but found nothing and also i checked her last book with poirot called the curtain but found nothing about it also....
One of her romance books which she wrote might be related to roses or something?
Any books dedicated towards her daughter?
i checked that also .... but still nothing:(:(....
Or the triple eight could mean 3 as in third girl or three act tradgedy. I'll go check them out.
i have looked both books.... but found nothing:(....
2nd clue could have been Five little pigs? These little piggies should have stayed at home
Poor HH being reffered to a piggie! He won't be pleased with that! I think the clue might have been under 5 little pigs then? It was then removed, or that's a ruse. Was there a Beatrice in 5 little pigs? I don't remember one. But HH said he found it by accident.
Rosie888 hmmm
Any books with roses in it?
I wonder if someone who posted the correct location of the clue, would be killed?
I looked for clue when it was put on, but I didn't find it.
yes please tell us;) if you dont want to say fully where it was at least tell us if it was in an obvious place or you have to concentrate to find it...????!??!?!
hmm yes thats an idea.. yes i think that Rosie= Rosalind but 888 dont have the least idea what it is . also 91 could mean the date that rosalind was born so the 2nd clue i think is based on Rosalind.....
Well, now that the previous second clue has gone, The butlerdidit, could you tell us where that was? It could be useful?
Beatriz91, no idea but Rosie888? Rosie=Rosalind? 888 could mean 24? 3 digits?
i think the numbers under their names had to do something with the 2nd clue....;)
YES!! Finally!! The second clue........Where is it? 91 and 888
hmm thats weird... okay then if it is gone tell us if it was to an obvious place or you had to concentrate to find it... eventhough it is gone they might put it back...
It's gone! I swore I found it and now I went to see if there was any hidden clues or messages in it and then it disappeared!
And 91 being the year she was born? That's a good theory!
The way I read the the current note is that the second clue was on here, and then taken off! I wish someone had said that before I speant a good chunk of the weekend looking for it. I can see that there are going to be some frustrating bumps along the way. On to the mystery though....
In the first clue discussion ee started talking about some sort of link to Agatha's daughter, and Rosie may be short for Rosalind......
It might be missing, but there still stands a chance that it is still there. It was only my interpretation of the Mystery Figure's note and the resulting news that gave me that impression.
So the 2nd clue is no longer there? I spent hours looking for it! Although I must add, it challeged my little grey cells t the limit. I'm still enoying finding clues and all the speculation.

Well, well. Shinichi managed to trouble the Mystery Figure greatly with his last breath, eh? Defiant to the end, he is.
I suppose that Butler meant he managed to sneak into the clue before it was removed. I might be wrong, though.
So now we have to wait for the next victim? Marcia96 and ilovewalruses2... We're in mortal danger!!! Because like the victims, we have numbers at the end of our user names!
That's it I'm gonna change now!
TheButlerDidITI have found it but I don't wanna be killed!
From reding the post about the latest murder (rosie888) I understand that the second clue to the identity of the murderer probably won't appear on the website until the next murder victim is revealed.
Have you really found it TheButlerDidIT, or are you playing with us?!!!
Great another clue! And the moderator's explained the motive's for the two fan murders as well, which clears up the confusion and speculatino surrounding that.
wow this is becoming even more difficult .. hmm 91 and 888 what could this mean??!?!?! well i have to search now for the 2nd clue. btw have they posted the 2nd clue??...???
is to hard to find
does it have to do with the numbers 91 an 888 non of my theories work
I have found it but I don't wanna be killed!

Oh the irony, had agatha_911 only had time to dial for help before the Mystery Figure pounced!
So that's agatha_911, Rosie888 and beatriz91 - have you a clue what this pattern could mean? It's time to find that second clue! Only then will the identity of the Mystery Figure become that little bit clearer and the terrorised community can finally put a full stop to this rampage.
