Mystery Man

The Mystery Man is back! And more devious than ever...

The Mystery Man (who could also be a woman, it's a mystery after all) has kidnapped eight characters from the stories of Agatha Christie. Trouble is, we don't know who he's kidnapped!

In an email to the official Christie Community, the Mystery Man has revealed that beginning Thursday, July 7th 2011, he will allow one character per week the chance to speak.

And this is the place to put your theories and ideas to the Christie community, or just to browse to catch-up on all the latest events should you not want to use Twitter to follow the game.

Whatever you do, do not name the character in the forum, it will ruin the game for other players! Though feel free to help others along, just don't make it too easy for them. Anyone guilty of making it too easy will find themselves bumped off! (and banned from entering the competition).

All four messages from Victim 3 have now been released, they were:

"Someone likes my auburn hair’"

"I do like mixing things"

"So sad for Poor Emily"

"Great that Arthur met his old friend Poirot again"

Ugh, I can't believe it took me so long to get Vicitm 3!  And I just saw the Victim 4 clue on the facebook page and I already solved it, but there's not a discussion yet here on the forum!  Silly that I solved victim 4 before victim 3, but the clue was pretty easy.

Quite easy, really, with all of the above clues.

I will be interested to see what we have to do once we have freed all the victims.  I mean, obviously we will have to catch the diabolical Mystery Man, but the question is - how????

This should narrow down the possible books a lot.  Combined with clue 3, the options narrow down a lot more.

Found it!  And, having watched the Sound of Music last night, it was doubly helpful that I had the beginning of "Do, Re, Mi" running through my head ;)

I am at sea about the conclussion of the game as well, Jenpix. I thought that maybe once we know who all the victims are, we will see something or someone they all have in common and that may lead to the Mystery Man, but this is just an idea.

Hi lovely crime solvers. I am puzzled by one thing. Having found and released these poor victims how does this get us closer to identifying the Mystery Man (or woman? I have not been given any secret clues. Or is releasing the distressed kidnappees reward enough?

i got so excited when i saw this clue, a penchant for auburn hair is synonymous with one christie character who we all know... but this was not the answer!!!! :o lost. very very stuck :(

Keep in mind, the quote is being spoken by the person with the auburn hair, not the one doing the admiring -- hope that helps!

I LOOKED BACK INTO MY BOOKS BUT I WAS TOTALLY SURPRISED TO FIND OUT THAT NO ONE OF MY SUSPICIONS CONCERNING THE IDENTITY OF THE THIRD VICTIM WAS CORRECT .
