The Mystery Man is back! And more devious than ever...
The Mystery Man (who could also be a woman, it's a mystery after all) has kidnapped eight characters from the stories of Agatha Christie. Trouble is, we don't know who he's kidnapped!
In an email to the official Christie Community, the Mystery Man has revealed that beginning Thursday, July 7th 2011, he will allow one character per week the chance to speak.
And this is the place to put your theories and ideas to the Christie community, or just to browse to catch-up on all the latest events should you not want to use Twitter to follow the game.

mamacarinaInspectorGrantMe neither, Marplefan - it will be interesting to see what we have to do to find out his or her identity.
Did you play last year? Or anyone else out there? This is my first time playing, and I was just curious what they did to help you get to the last stages of the game once you had all the clues.
Last year the game was totally different. We were given clues that led us to various books. Then we were visiting the pages of these books and there was a link there. By clicking on this link we could see a characteristic of the murderer. When we had all the characteristics it was clear (to those who have read that book) who the murderer was.
But this year, the game is more difficult. We have to figure out how these characters are connected. I have found a connection between them but can't be sure since I haven't read all the books. I also tried anagram, but no luck there. I hope that when all eight victims are released, we will be given a hint. Until then our grey cells will have to work hard
i'm also waiting for the eighth victim, i've made an excell spreadsheet with the info i've got so far...
can you believe it?
InspectorGrantHello christie_greece,
Quite a few of the old gang are back from last year which is very pleasing to see.
So far I have actually found it easier than last year - some of last year's clues were very obscure (thinking of the sheep's skull which had us all going around in circles until we finally worked out that it simply meant 'dead'), but I am hoping that after the 8th victim we will be given a hint or clue or something - anything! - which will lead us to the identity of the Mystery Figure. Anyway, two more to go - perhaps there will be some light cast onto his/her identity - hope so, anyway!
As usual, though, it is playing the game which is the most fun.
I also fund the last year's game much more challanging, but i know i'll miss this one when it will be over... which is rather sooner than i wish for.
Oh my!! Finally got it. The third and foruth clue were the biggest help, especially the fourth one. The 7th one is too much!!!
What a relief!!!!! I finally got #6!!
Got it yesterday- I havent read this one for years, working on it now, at work on my phone- headache here we come!
I DIDN'T TAKE PART IN THE GAME LAST YEAR, BUT FROM DESCRIPTIONS I HAVE HEARD, THIS YEAR'S GAME LOOKS EASIER. HOWEVER I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THE IDENTITIES OF THE 8 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS ARE SUPPOSED TO LEAD AS TO THE MYSTERY MAN. I HAVE READ MOST OF AGATHA CHRISTIE'S NOVELS, BUT I'M SURE THAT THE ONLY THING THAT CONNECTS A WRITER, A SOLDIER, A WOMAN WITH AUBURN HAIR, A WOMAN WHO "SHOT PHILIP", A GERMAN ENDOCRINOLOGIST AND THE MOST CELEBRATED KC IN ENGLAND IS THE FACT THAT THEY DO HAVE NOTHING IN COMMON. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO ASK SORRY IF MY ENGLISH IS A BIT "UNTIDY"

Got there in the end :) Still don't know who the mystery man (woman) is themselves though

You're welcome!
GKCfanFor people unfamiliar with the British legal system, a KC is a King's Counsel- an honor bestowed upon distinguished barristers (trial lawyers). KC's get to wear black silk gowns and sit in a more prominent position in court. They're only called KC's when a male sovereign is on the throne: currently they're called QC's, or Queen's Counsel. There's a hint right there: the book in question must have been published before Queen Elizabeth II took the throne in in 1953.
Even though I already found the victim, thanks for posting GKCfan, that was very kind of your to explain....and very helpful!

Whatever you do, do not name the character in the forum, it will ruin the game for other players! Though feel free to help others along, just don't make it too easy for them. Anyone guilty of making it too easy will find themselves bumped off! (and banned from entering the competition).
All four messages from Victim 6 have now been released, they were:
"They said I was either a genius or insane"
"I could have been a future British Prime Minister"
"I was the most celebrated KC in England"
"You can call me Mr Brown"
