Mystery Man

The Mystery Man is back! And more devious than ever...

The Mystery Man (who could also be a woman, it's a mystery after all) has kidnapped eight characters from the stories of Agatha Christie. Trouble is, we don't know who he's kidnapped!

In an email to the official Christie Community, the Mystery Man has revealed that beginning Thursday, July 7th 2011, he will allow one character per week the chance to speak.

And this is the place to put your theories and ideas to the Christie community, or just to browse to catch-up on all the latest events should you not want to use Twitter to follow the game.

Whatever you do, do not name the character in the forum, it will ruin the game for other players! Though feel free to help others along, just don't make it too easy for them. Anyone guilty of making it too easy will find themselves bumped off! (and banned from entering the competition).

All four messages from Victim 7 have now been released, they were:

"This may not be my birth name"

"Mrs Oliver has agreed to help me"

"My name could be for a woman or man"

"I am a talented playwright"

Pat, nice post!  Yes, this years version really seems to have gone by fast, I can't believe we are already down to the last victim!  It was great fun playing, and meeting old and new faces.

I have to be honest, I am not sure how all the victims connect to each other, however after victim 8, I will sit down with a blank sheet of paper and try and find some connection.

Happy Hunting everyone, talk to you all soon.

the Mystery Man Game Marathon!

well, i've just had a look at the previous victims posts and it is thrilling to notice how many people are playing this game - haven't been counting, but it looks a lot more than last year! really exiting, isn't it? we're all taking part in this Marathon... Maybe we haven't all start playing at the first gun shot  but by the looks of it - we are all going to finish it together. At one stage I thought we will somehow be narrowed down by now (yes, Agathasmykid, like in a true Christie novel ) - but we're all still here; alive

victim 8 will speak tomorrow... Good luck everyone!

Victim 7 - I am a talented playwright. #agathachristiegame http://goo.gl/wdAS0

Knowing who it is, this is a debatable statement...

Mine too, Syanne - it was my very first Agatha Christie novel.  I like the ones with Mrs. Oliver in them - she plays very well off Poirot.

Mamacarina You don't have to worry ,really! One of the victims (the 1st One) makes ME worry ;) it's not that sure if it really fits... I haven't Read the Book but a Friend told me about the victim and As I told her about my idea She did of course everything to "make it fit" so As I Said I'm probably wrong...

Oh Yeah!!! Found victim 7- but I can't find any link between the victims. Also I didn't play last year's game so I am completely clueless. Anyway, lets bask in the glory that we have moved one step forward.

LauraPoirot, you're worrying me a bit! I haven't a clue how to look at all these victims properly. If any of you played last year, what was the identity of the mystery man? Maybe that will help me straighten my thoughts out a bit...

I've got it too and I think the Second clue was far more telling than all the clues the Community has given so far. A Link between them? I've got a little idea ;) with every victim I Hope it fits in it and until now it did! Hope for victim 8. But I'm probably wrong...

I definetely needed 2nd clue! I could only think of two books in which Mrs.Oliver is called for aid. To think that only a week ago I saw the film adaptation of this story...
