Hello Nofret: Many thanks for your input; I'll put my hands on these ASAP. Nofret the concubine was a very interesting woman and "Death Comes As An End" a delightful departure from the usual venue. A good choice!
"The Lamp", a short story about the ghost of a lonely child, is also in "The Hound of Death", a collection of Christie stories inspired by the supernatural. The book contains some real gems - the title story might even be called Christie's venture into the realms of science fiction! Other highlights are The Fourth Man, Wireless ( a supernatural tale with a twist) and the story which became the famous play Witness for the Prosecution, with Christie's original ending. Thoroughly recommended!
Thanks GKC for your reply. I've read everything Christie ever wrote (not as Westmacott, though) and thought I had missed something. Oh how I wish we could find a hidden treasure chest with more stories in it that were never published. That marvelous fertile mind of hers keeps us wanting to read more!
