Greta Scatchi played Tuppence as a Drunk in By The Pricking of My Thumb, I am not keen on Joanna Lumley as Dolly Bantry either, she is more like AC Imagines her in the Film where Margaret Courtney played her, Funnily enough Margaret Courtney played Miss Knight in the AL version. Although she doesn't look totally right when I read the book recently I imagined Dolly Bantry should be played by the Actress called Jane How, No offence meant to Joanna Lumley or Michelle Dotrice buty perhaps Michelle Dotrice should have been cast as Miss Dolly Bantry.
This cast list looks exciting. I think Joanna Lumley will be a good Dolly Bantry except that I always have thought of her as pudgy and homely. I wasn't too keen on her portrayal of Tuppence as a drunk either. That though would have been more the writers. I am excited to see Caroline Quentin as Heather Babcock
I thought it was one of the better Miss Marple books but not one of the best Agatha Christie Books.
I love this cast list, personally. I consider The Mirror Crack'd as one of Agatha's weakest and more obvious books, but a TV adaptation can be done very well- see Joan Hickson's version and you'll see what I mean.
Ten people, each with something to hide and something to fear, are invited to a lonely mansion on Soldier Island by a host who, surprisingly, fails to appear.
When the wealthy patriarch, Aristide, is murdered, suspicion falls on the whole household. ...
Travelling on the Orient Express, Poirot is approached by a desperate American. Afraid that someone plans to kill him, Ratchett asks Poirot for help ...

Here's the cast list for The Mirror Crack'd From Side to Side.
I have never read the book but I do know the plot and who did it as it is one of my Mom's favorite AC books and she told me about it before I started to read AC's mysteries. So everyone is probably a better judge as to which actors are suitable for each role.
