For fun....

If Murder on the Orient Express were to be made by Hollywood, directed by Christopher Nolan, what about the following cast:

Christian Bale as Hercule Poirot

And

Juliette Binoche as Greta Ohlsson

Michael Caine as Masterman

Vincent Cassel as Pierre Michel

Daniel Craig as Colonel Arbuthnot

Matt Damon as Hector Macqueen

Robert De Niro as Foscarelli

Udo Kier (or David Bowie) as Dr. Constantine

Anna Massey as Princess Dragomiroff

Helen Mirren as Hildegarde Schmidt

Al Pacino as Rachett

Natalie Portman as Countess Andrenyi

John C. Reilly as Hardman

Meryl Streep as Mrs. Hubbard

Timothy Spall as M. Bouc

Karl Urban as Count Andrenyi

Naomi Watts as Mary Debenham

I once suggested Anthony Head as Masterton, Tom Hanks as Cyrus. I don't know about the others. I always hear Mrs Hubbard talking like Angela Landsbury.

I would say Margaret Tyzack or Billie Whitelaw  and perhaps Stephen Fry asMasterton and Richard E. Grant as McQueen and David Jason as Rachetti (As I don't rate him and he would only be in a small bit) and Philip Madoc as Bouc and Ann Reid as Mrs Hubbard.

I would like to see Roy Marsden as Ratchett... don´t know why, I just picture him in that part :D Derek Jacobi would be perfect as mr Masterman (or Beddoes as he is called in the first movie). Helen Mirren would be perfect as mrs Hubbard. But who on earth will play the russian princess? Wendy Hiller was just perfect, that part will be hard to do better in my opinion.
