Poirot in US

Does anyone have any idea when the latest Poirot series will air and who is going to air them? I'm going through major withdrawal as A&E has stopped showing even the old episodes.

Oooh. Just checked it out. My local is VERY good about broadcasting Masterpiece. Now if only I can get DirecTV to broadcast it in HD I'd be a VERY happy sleuth.

I believe that at least some of the new Poirots and Marples will be aired in the summer of 2009 in the US on PBS. Masterpiece Theater has been broken up into genres with the mysteries coming in the summer.

I believe the geraldine Marples were on PBS... So i predict that they will have the next Poirots and Marples

I believe PBS decided to do some kind of big event next year with the new Poirots and Mrs. Marples. Originally PBS was going to air the latest Poirots and Miss. Marples last summer (2008), but decided to save them for next year in order to give their production team time to put something together so they could have a Poirot/Miss. Marple Film Fest or something like that. I would contact PBS Masterpiece/Mystery directly perhaps they can put you on a mailing list so you will be able to keep up on what's happening in the world of Poirot on PBS. Or contact this website about joining their newsletter. I would think they would get advance warning of the air dates in the US since Agatha Christie Limited and Chorion were involved in the production end of things.

I don't know where you live in the United States (some local affiliates have different plans than others), but PBS has officially planned to release the four new Poirot movies during the first few months of 2009, although they've delayed them once already (two movies were supposed to air this past summer). Incidentally, some PBS affiliates are starting to air some of the old Poirot one-hour episodes again.
