I love this movie. I like the setting. The actors and actresses are also good. What is bad is that they changed Linda(in the book) to Lionel(made it into a boy in the movie). They also deleted my favorite characters, Mr. and Mrs. Gardener. But this movie is good. The music also is excellent. The ending is good, too. I rate it 8/10.

I rate the book 10/10

To the best of my knowledge Squatty it was filmed off Devon on the same island that inspired the setting for And Then There Were None.If only i could remember its name. It's the really famous one at any rate. Burgh Island ,thats it!

The Ustinov version has been out on dvd for ages in Britain. You can buy it also as part of a boxed set of the four big Hollywood Christies from the seventies. Does anyone know where the Suchet version was filmed? It reminded me of a hotel I stayed in many years ago in Newquay but there were other parts of the area that definately werent Cornwall.

No. Only the Suchet version. Where can I watch it, anyway?

yes. Try it. It's really good. Now you'll laugh at how Mrs. Gardener talks.

I read the book and played the game and both loved them.. But when I saw the Ustinov version I was appalled!! They were in a totally different location, every other word was a curse word (something I cant stand) and they took out half of the important characters. I loved the ustinov DOTN.. but this was bad. They made a Suchet EUTS?

I agree with squatty, the Ustinov was very good and Maggie Smith was great as was Roddy McDowell. DetectiveJohnPaul have you seen this version?

Are we talking about the Ustinov version or the Suchet version here? I thought the Suchet version was pretty faithful, although it would have been nice to have the comedy couple, the Gardners in it. Having said that, I loved the way they extended the Daphne Castle role in the Ustinov version and thought Maggie Smith stole every scene she was in.

Loved the movie; a beefed up version of the book.  I think there are much better AC books than Evil Under the Sun. But, whoever did the screenplay for EUTS, knew AC's books well.

As an aside: I thought the Cole Porter music was just right.

I haven't read "Evil Under The Sun" yet. I have watched the film though and I loved it! I liked the characters, the set, the plot, a delight!... I think I'll read the book since it's your favorite AC, detectivepauljohn!=).
