Why I like Christie

While well-known as an author of a particular genre (mystery), different Christie stories are presented in various modes - some stories are funny, some are tragic, some have quiet but astute sleuths, some have energetic but ineffectual sleuths, and some are not mysteries at all, but rather adventures or odd incidents. With such variety, a reader does not find the tiresome same motive for all cases of one recurring sleuth, or the same semi-automatic-gunne­d resolution for every spy story.
