Parker Pyne is on a ship sailing up the Nile from Assouan to Cairo. Among his fellow passengers are a group of wealthy British travellers and their companions. Although this story shares a title with one of Agatha Christie’s most famous novels, that is where the resemblance ends. The novel, which was published three years after this collection, stars Hercule Poirot and is even more murderous. There is also a play Murder on the Nile which was adapted by Christie from her novel but omits Poirot.
This short story appeared in Parker Pyne Investigates.
