Synopsis

At a flower show, Poirot encounters Miss Amelia Barrowby who rather unusually gives him an empty seed packet. The next day she is found dead. When Poirot returns to London, he finds a letter from Amelia asking for his help. Tests prove that Amelia was poisoned and suspicion falls on her Russian friend who has fled the scene. Poirot, however, is unsure of his guilt.

This short story was adapted for television in 1991. It starred David Suchet as Poirot and Hugh Fraser as Captain Hastings.
